The view from my "office"

re: The view from my "office"

Moving the 38 tonne pipe handling frame for the lads 70m below the surface so they can lift the 44 inch spool (pipe) and connect it. Chevron's Wheatstone project.
I don't actually get to see what's happening, just follow orders and watch my weight and direction indicators.
Saturation divers stay in sat for their entire swing (28 days) including 3-4 days decompression. Breathing 98% helium and 2% oxygen they all sound like Donald Duck.

28 days on 98% helium.. Wow.

Assume that job pays well but must have some long term issues

Surprised to see this bird in the backyard while still light yesterday (tawny frogmouth I believe). They have been around previously but well camouflaged & not out in the open
Many years ago (i.e. in the 50s) we had a 'pet' tawny frogmouth, named unsurprisingly Tawny. Not sure how we came to have him, think he may have been abandoned. He used to ride around on my brother's shoulder. I have a very large soft spot for this species.

Ah China - smoggy one minute - smoggier the next!

Bit of difference between the 'Struglers' like me and the 'Silver Tails' like Uppy huh?

Well I will finally get to swap the view (and sounds) of a building site [next to my office for the past 6 months] to a quiet suburban street (and small row of offices and shops) on Monday (see photo below). Damn, I am soooo looking forward to a 10 minute commute rather than 45 mins each way.

Yes, I am aware it's not a finished fit out yet, but you get the idea.
