We looked at CitizenM in Amsterdam @ Schipol but chose to visit Haarlem for our 24 hour layover last September.
Rooms did look adequate but chose Haarlem for location.

Best Dutch accent in Haarlem. All the news readers have a Haarlem or Het Gooit accent.

I just remembered I promised someone (I think @MARTINE) that I would post photos of my CitizenM hotel in Paris. This is the second one I've stayed at - the other one was in Geneva and I think they are perfectly adequate for one - not sure how cosy it would be for two people

The room looks fine for a solo as you say, or a couple if it is only overnight. Or out all day. Quite cute.

I did visit them in Paris in 1989 after the end of my Africa overland trip…….. Very comfortable. Had them for years.

Arrived in Scotland with a heart stopping moment. Just tootling along the road and saw this motorbike coming from a side road and watched the rider go over and just slide along the road. Luckily no other traffic and I was able to pull over and he was fine but I had to lift the bike so he could get his legs out (and now my back is sore) Big holes in his leathers so lucky he was wearing them. About two minutes later two young lads came along and lifted his bike upright for him and were chatting about technical stuff so I left. I didn't want to be too obvious about taking a photo of them

Now in a fantastic cottage for three nights with the wood burner happily burning away. View of the canola from my bedroom window

The Hilton decided to split the room levels, although not before telling me they've called the cops if I decided to leave......... bit odd......

Reminds me very much of the Omena Hotel we stayed at in Helsinki many years ago (Very sharp pricing and a great location)
