The view from my "office"

re: The view from my "office"

How is Wellington bridge after they put in the new deck?

They now allow the largest diesel locos over over it the same as would be used on Hunter Valley coal, but with fuel tank limited to 7600 litres for the company I work for (the CF class in the table in the link) to reduce weight. But there is a speed restriction.

I took my office out there with laser scanner equipment to check we could fit in the loading gauge on the bridge.

Not much air pollution back in 1986 ;)

Correct, one reason why we are reluctant to return to Beijing, it would have changed SO much.
Shanghai in 2006 gave us an indication of what to expect.

The view from the office if you are lucky enough to be sitting near a window.

This is an impressive lounge IMO.

Have picked up many of our Chinese business partners at the airport. Without exception - when we leave the terminal they come to a complete halt and stare up at the sky....

Hmmmm ....Toowong Village Tower .... what an absolute debacle of a construction project that was in the mid 80's. I can only imagine what the ongoing legacy issues have been with that girl ............ and the never explained significant 'cancer cluster' abandoned ABC studios to right ......wow.
On a lighter note, I assume that is your rubber duck in the river?

After 18 hours travelling from Sydney, the Limo office (with wi-fi, catching up on e-mails) is great

LOL! Not my rubber duck.

The renovations are still going on in the tower now. I hear the rent has increased which has meant some of the businesses will not continue to trade.

On the left of the photo you can see the monstrosity they are building at Milton with another is on the way not too far. And another monstrosity on the way across the road next to the Royal Exchange. I think 13 levels to go higher than the Toowong Tower.

Money laundering works quite well in the construction business.
