The view from my "office"

re: The view from my "office"

These military folk had an even better view than me as they disappeared north along the PER coast. City Beach is 3 km N of the SAS base and the live-fire flags were up this morning, which takes the last half km off my running track. The chopper may have come from there.

Wow. They managed togged an MRH90 flying :!:

re: The view from my "office"

Whoa! I seem to have unleashed a can of worms with the helo experts! All I can say is that thing stayed in the sky for a long run N along the PER coast and the view would have been sensational!

Whether they could have protected us is an entirely different issue :p.

My office can be seen in the photo so I thought it's appropriate to post in this thread ;)

re: The view from my "office"

I just worked out why the name of this thread has always felt strange to me. In my case, it should be called "The view from my workstation" :)
As I managed to escape the said workstation for a few days, here is a rather belated pic while waiting for Sugarman in Adelaide. He did not disappoint!

View from "office" this morning... There were 4 that floated over at about 6ish this morning but this was the most colourful. The dogs weren't impressed but it was a great morning for it :)

Who says the smog in Beijing makes the blue sky invisible 365 days a year? The view from Exec Lounge on 24th floor Renaissance Beijing Capital Hotel looking north on 3rd Ring Road this morn - compare to pic of same landscape up thread:

Calgary airport, Sunday morning, quick biz trip to ORD. No lounge. Not terribly happy, Jan.

(On the other hand, the US immigration guy said, when about to take my photo, "look into the camera and say 'I hate Fosters' " :)

Then when he had finished and I began to walk away, saying 'Thank-you' he replied (in his best Aussie accent) 'No worries - mate' )

Hmmnnn, I guess no more chowing down on the CAB and guzzling the red while sitting on the sidewalk for a while now, RF ;).

And a LOTFAP border agent with a sense of humour .

Unfortunately not re the CAB or the cab-sav ;) . Although there may be some prime rib coming my way here in downtown Gurnee, Illinois (don't ask ...)

I had to read the original post twice, couldn't quite believe it the first time. Rooflyer, you may have found the one US immigration officer with an actual sense of humour!:p

I had quite a convivial one as I did pre-entry when leaving Bermuda. But he did live in Bermuda, so I guess that helped.
