The view from my "office"

re: The view from my "office"

Ships Ahoy !
So Lady Cool Cat and I were just taking a Wednesday afternoon stroll along Port Melbourne just 30 minutes ago when a massive wind storm came through.
We gained cover from the sand blowing in eyes behind a toilet block ( of all places) and couldn't happen to notice a rather sharp metal snap sound nearby.
Once the wind died down it was apparent at what that metal snap sound was.
The spirit of Tasmania moored nearby has been blow 90 degrees during the windstorm, away from the wharf and has major damage to the front bow of the ship and also appears to have run aground.
Somehow I don't think the spirit of Tasmania will sailing tonight out of Melbourne.

Thanks for posting this. I was able to alert a friend who was due to travel ex Tas tomorrow that there may be an issue.

For those who know RADelaide, we live about 300 metres from Burnside Council. Suburbia and lots of traffic. :(

That's a wonderful photo Pushka. Poor lamb he must have been so hot.

Happier now

Hope he likes pear leaves! Koala rescue has been inundated because of Adelaide's excessive heat. They will come get him if he hasn't moved on tomorrow. Thankfully for the next week just one hot day of 35, the rest in the high twenties/early 30's.

Poor Koala. Hot weather is tough on the wildlife; I've made sure to have fresh water in the yard for the birds.

Ouchy for the Spirit of Tassie. I'm sure pretty scary for those onboard too when it spun.

Near Pemberton in the lower SW today assessing some vineyard fungicide trials.

Cab sav just at early veraison (colour change). Season about two weeks earlier than usual.

Chardonnay. Apparently a recent Pemberley chardy made it to the BA F list.

I don't recognise that as chardonnay - it's not liquid and in a glass - or is that what paddock to plate is supposed to look like?

Hey Pushka
Have you lost your house (well, garden) guest? Hope he managed to move on if it was cooler.

He's moved on. Sniff. Eucalyptus trees beckoned. Typical male.

Hey Dame. I really need another QM2 self indulgence. You up for a 2017 fling?

Sorry. Just to bring this back OT (thought this was off topic thread - blame the App ;))

We have a mother carrying her baby out the front at the moment. When she goes wandering, baby on her back. When she is back up the tree, baby nestled on her front, fantastic to watch.

At least you have the Koala hospital at PM.
