The view from my "office"

I work down near StKilda junction and it made a fine noise buzzing around for five minutes or so ...

Why does a 7.00am flight seem such a good idea....... until you need to get up at 4.00am?
Living in BNE to travel via SYD on international flights I often take 5:00am-6:00am flights. Sleep early for 3-4 hours and be awake at ~2:00am and slowly get ready to go to airport and leave everything for last minute then rush to get to airport. The adrenalin does wonders.

But for the most part you are right. I have booked early flights months in advance and then wonder why the hell I booked them that early. The worst are early morning flights SYD-BNE and then put in a full day at the office. Thankfully have only done that a handful of times in the past 9 years.

All my MEL trips are day trips so was always on a 7am or 7.15 - meaning being up at 4.45am. Knowing I had to be up early is sure fire way to have me sleep poorly that night.

While I miss the bumping up of my FF points and status, I don't miss those long days and early starts.

Oh yes, I remember a few times where I went to work after a red-eye from Perth or an international overnight flight. Think the classes that day were not hugely productive. I remember being hugely jet lagged and a film crew from China was there to take footage of a particular program we were running at the time....oops.

Possibly not high on most people's 'must visit sights' I would think :)

It was actually interesting, reading about some of the original cases/outbreaks like Legonaires and Ebola.

Saddest sight for me was the iron lung, that was still being used by a polio sufferer until early 2000. Anti'vacers need to be reminded that the herd keeps most safe and these diseases are still around.

Edit. There was also details about a syphilis study with black Americans who tested positive and how they were not treated or given full details to give consent. Very sad that this was allowed to happen.
