The view from my "office"

I did a 21 day Contiki European tour (15 countries I think) ex Royal National Hotel, London in 1989....boy that was an eye opener in so many ways for the young, naive kpc ;)

Okay that's 6 degrees of separation - I did a 13 day Contiki European Discovery Tour which started at the Royal National on 2 April 1989. We almost crossed paths back then :o

I flew BNE/LHR on 20 March (BA10) in Club World (19J). Fond memories of my first long haul Business ticket.

My lunch time office where Nobu begins...

And my night office where I was truly stuffed!!

They are next to each other in Beverly Hills.

As I said in the What I Ate Today thread I had trouble with posting photos of my Ireland trip from my Tablet, so I am a putting up a few now I have returned. I am girding my loins to do a trip report.

Sunset over the Cliffs of Moher from our B & B. The tower in the second photo dates from the Napoleonic War.

I did a 61 day Contiki tour in early 80s and at least half of us still keep in touch - had about 18 at our last reunion

"The cat that saved a railway line. Actually this is Nitama, replacement for the original Tama cat, that died quite a few years ago."

That will be us next January, Cossie

I organised a reunion after about 10 years in MEL and had a decent turnout. Now I've been half heartedly trying to create a closed FB group but I think tonight I found our Tour Director.

If I had known more about this area of Japan! You could easily base a trip on Wakayama prefecture alone, lot's of forests, mountains and onsen. Next time!

For Kishi, get there a bit earlier than 10:00 and you'll probably see the cat outside before he goes into his 'display case'. Also there weren't many people there until the first train after 10:00 arrived.

In the back of the 'limo' at about 09:30.

We've got a closed FB group - none of us ever wanted to see our Tour Director again

British Museum - would have been even better if they banned children but I still keep going back

https://thelondonginclub.com/ - amazing array of gins. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable will definitely go back (and now I want some of those glasses) This was from Silent Pool Distillers - Surrey based distiller specialising in bespoke gins. and the bottle is lovely

https://mr-foggs.com/gin-parlour/ - quirkier and the staff were dressed up in old style costumes but was much more expensive than the Gin Club and staff weren't as friendly

All beaches in Mallorca are public beaches and adjacent hotels have no control - San Juan festival went til 5am or so - another pic from around midnight:

Not what we expected at this office!

oct.jpgoct1.jpg

The boss spoke to one of the band members, they are from Munich and come to Japan four times a year for two weeks at a time.

The beer we had was very disappointing, the Japanese stuff we have had so far has been much better.

Hurry up, I'm waiting....
