The view from my "office"

My view from my new hotel room last night - Darling Harbour building site

Always wanted to see the people climbing these cranes to start work - he obviously doesn't have height issues - this was at 7am this morning

This afternoon in the VA Lounge up the back watching the sun set and planes take off:

Believe I got both a small commuter in the first and a QF 738 in the second (only a minute or so apart)

My view tonight preparing to depart ADL. That's the moon in the background, even though it looks like an airport light.

Due to issues with a wheelchair pax, everyone except J pax boarded via the rear stairs. I'd forgotten how far it is from the rear stairs to row 4. :o

Quick trip to west coast Tas office; 4.5 hrs drive to Zeehan and same back the next day. Brought back memories of a well-spent youth - as a field assistant trudging up and down these bloody mountains! Even in the dead of winter, its a fantastic place to visit.

Road was a bit interesting near Tarreleah:

West Coast mining and pioneers museum in Zeehan on the right - don't miss it!!; Gaiety theatre on the left, notable for one of Melbas many 'final, farewell' performances.

Visited Zeehan and West Coast a couple of times in the early 00s.
I'm struck by the appearance of shrubbery/trees around Queenstown - it was all bare hills when we were there.

View from the weekend.....

Laguna Llanganuco, Ancash, Peru. A truly astonishing place.

Our oarsman Diego, 5 foot nothing, but rowed 8 people into a headwind on the laguna at 3850 metres altitude, without the slightest puff!!

If you ever get the chance, there is much more to Peru than MP and Puno.

Huaraz, Huascaran, Llanganuco, Yungay, Carhuaz, Cordillera Blanca are all in Ancash province. Easily accessible and truly beautiful.
