Ha - what kind of ship

Just a ship...no, not another dredge. Is a tween deck style general cargo vessel. Two cranes, capable of about 60MT each. This type of vessel can load/unload without the need of a shore crane so good for remote ports with minimal facilities.

Hubby is trying some of the local brews.

Hobart no. 4 Single Malt Gin - or are my eyes truly deceiving me this afternoon? That sounds interesting!

Yep and about $90 by memory. Initial lemon myrtle note but can't remember after that (as I wasn't drinking or listening) but it was something you could drink straight. Three people tried it and liked it.

Very small, hands on batches distillery. Walk ins welcome.

There are now more gin distilleries than whisky in Tasmania. :) Which suits me as a gin lover and whiskey not-so-much. But they are all bloody expensive!

Would post a view of my office this morning, but it's grey, overcast with a slight drizzle. not my idea of summer in Frankfurt. It's probably warmer in Canberra!

Spoke to some Germans that had come from Tokyo yesterday, they said it had been 37-38 degrees C there.

Tell me about Tassie (specifically Hobart vicinity) gins?

I tried the Sud Polaire at lunch last week and am visiting to get a bottle of that. I picked up a Red Okar from Applewood in Adelaide Hills today.

Yep, Canberra was warm over night though a bit cloudy and breezy today, certainly no rain though. :) Getting up to 18 next week I think.
And yes, it has been hot in Tokyo. A couple of weeks ago (that long ago already :() it was 35 in Takayama. When we go back in Feb it will be a bit different though. :)

The Shene estate is close to Hobart and produces Poltergeist. Its a historic place with great atmosphere.

Hartshorn produces whiskey and gin from sheep's whey

See here in general. for lots of nice things to eat and drink.

Thanks for the clarification

I've been doing my best to try as many different kinds of gin in the UK and there are hundreds and they are so much cheaper than Australia. When I get some time I will try posting them in a separate thread.

Also - trivia fact - for the first time there were more taxes collected from gin last year than beer in the UK
