Was the Novatel Noisy?

Very quiet. No noise at all. Modern and bright.
Loved it much better than the Sheraton in 2 and half the price. The shuttle works brilliantly. Nice restaurants too and not too exxy. Great gin pours too.

I was in J on the MH A350 up and back to NRT yesterday. I do like the bulkhead seats. The regular seats were still quite good, but not as much foot-room.

For what it is worth, the QF lounge is hectic (to say the least), while the main BA lounge is quite a haven.

Our office yesterday was a little unusual. It involved a commute between New Ireland and East New Britain.

The vessel was the Solwara Meri (translated to Lady of the Sea) which was not so much a vessel, but rather a small fleet of highly powered speedboats.

It was a cross between a Shotover Jet ride and what I imagine smuggling into Hong Kong would be like! The distance was 80km with no seats (part way, Lisa said to me she understood why not ... We would have been tossed overboard from seats) and it was choppy and semi-exposed ocean.

We dog-legged down near the Duke of York islands which added 1/2 hour to the trip (made it 2.5hrs), but also made it far more comfortable!

The start of the trip was spine-compressing and just after we arrived in Kokopo, an almighty storm started, which created flash flooding and washed out roads, so we were lucky! All in all, we can now say that experience has been ticked off the bucket list!

My daughter lived at West Hampstead and we caught the #139 past Lords and over the Abbey Road crossing more times than I could count. Lovely area - and love the Salt Beef at Harry Morgans on St Johns Wood High Street.

Sigh: everyone else has nice "holiday" snaps - I get an airport
But I'm enroute to the UK for work, for two weeks. Hopefully I can sneak in a pub or three, or a castle

Well I didn't quite get what I had bargained for, getting off QF1 this morning. Motorways closed, bucketing down rain etc

But then I got to my "office" for the next week, and everything is better in the world

I was through last night on QF1, and was thinking about checking out the BA bar to see what it was like - although I suspect I would have just missed you. I'm keen to check it out on the way back, as it looks cosier than the Qantas Lounge
