A bit “Otto” as they say and they got bigger, brighter and higher later but I was getting wet so had to shut the winter garden doors. Bizarre with lightning around as well (but impossible to get a photo). Also just snapped with the phone, :)

Thunder, fireworks and a pretty good game of tennis on the telly. All sounds merge into one!

We are just back from watching the fireworks but we didn't go into Perth and fight several hundred thousand people. Instead we drove for about 5 minutes to the Canning River in Rossmoyne. It is about 8 km from Perth Water where the fireworks are held and offers a good view across the river and a fairly flat part of Perth - obviously we miss the low ones but it is a lot easier.

My office this morning is the MEL J lounge.

But something doesn’t seem right.

Can you spot it before looking at the second picture?

Spot it?

No?

How about now:

At the time of posting it had been sitting there, directly behind VH-VXO for more than ten minutes.

It may we’ll be an established way to deliver luggage and I’m sure there’s many safeguards to ensure nothing goes wrong.

But it looks odd seeing all manner of airside vehicles slowing to look at a seemingly abandoned luggage trolley and then driving on.

EDIT: The bags were loaded after about 20 mins.

But it must be SOP because behind the aircraft next to it more luggage appeared:

I spotted it and thought “how unusual, wonder if anybody has called it in to Tower”. It’s fine if the aircraft isn’t departing anytime soon and the tug crew should spot it before pushing back. Maybe there were a lot of people who checked in early or arrived early on connections? Still doesn’t match to SOP’s though.

Pity to have missed jb747’s final flight

My view yesterday for Australia Day lunch with my 2 pilot neighbours.

Nothing surprises me about luggage in MEL.
