The view from my "office"

My office tonight is a Hilton. This is uncommon these days but it seems they know I have become disillusioned with Bonvoy as I got this-

So an upgrade,2 free drinks at the bar plus complimentary Breakfast.
The view though is not the greatest.

Forgot to post the photos of my office Friday night. Old Boys dinner @ Howard Smith Wharves underneath the Storey Bridge.

40 of us turned up for our 1984 year reunion - the largest contingent of the night. Might have had a late night and feeling a little delicate when I woke up on Sat morning

I haven't looked it up, but I am going to say the Bristol Olympus engines on the Concorde were built by a descendant company of Bristol tramways.
That did indeed happen. The GM of the tram company was impressed with the Wright brothers and went into planes-the Bristol aircraft company. The engine part o the company was spun out down the track and ended up as part of Rolls Royce.
But the particular Concorde in the photo was built in the same place as the tram car.

This morning.

The Turkmenis practice a very liberal, open and peaceful form of Islam. Women are not required to cover their heads, even in the mosque. Only dress requirement for men and women is cover shoulders and knees.

Also, Turkmenistan is officially a neutral country.

Very enlightening.
