The view from my "office"

thank you to the Terrible Two @RooFlyer and @john M for all the wonderful photos and text. I have had to google all the locations but after some time surfing the net have learnt a bit about their cooking, their history, the process called kashap for making the ceramic tiles and about the Turco Mongol King Timur. Apparently a quote on his monument says - “if you want to know about us, examine our buildings”

Today's office for a while is the remains of Timur (Tamerlane)'s palace, late 1300s in Shahrizabz, Uzbekistan, his home town.

This is just the 2 pillars of the entrance arch / entry hall. It's HUGE! 38m high remaining, maybe half again originally.

Astounding

We drove, and then walked, to the Briksdal Glacier in central Norway today.
