The view from my "office"

Last nights office the Dyreparken Hotell just outside Kristiansand. It is attached to a zoo and entertainment park. As we were out of season, it was very cheap, for Norway, and probably only a quarter occupied.

It is styled as Noah's Ark

A number of the rooms have fold out bunk beds just suitable for little people - we swished our 3 & 5 yr old grandkids were with us

Our office for 2 nights is the yurt camp at Son-Kul lake, 3000m up in the Kyrgyzstan mountains. One of the jewels of the country - although, for the first time this trip, we got some cloud cover.

OK Sports fans, today's office is Son-Kul stadium, where we witnessed the Reds Vs Blacks game of 'Blue Wolf' aka Horse Rugby, followed by wrestling-while-on-a-horse.

Somehow we missed access to the Corporate Box:

The umpire was on a donkey and always will behind the action.

Teams of 4, competing for possession of a dead goat ( or, in our case, an substitute one). It must have weighed 30 kg. They scoop it up from the ground and carry it to their 'goal' while the opposition tried to block them and dispossess them of the goat. Fast paced and skilful!!

Then 2 guys wrestled atop horses, trying to get the other guy demounted.
