Auschwitz II-Birkenau Concentation Camp, Brzezinka - a very sad and poignant place to visit View attachment 190162

I have been to two Concentration Camps - Dachau when I was 22 and too young and stupid to fully take it all in. And then Buchenwald nearly 40 years later - when the true horrors really hit me hard. I will not go to one again.

Sure is. Saturday night.

There’s a couple of videos that are pretty good from today too.

The jets rehearse tomorrow. I’ll try to get some of those too.
I remember visiting Brisbane when this festival was on, bbq at friends who lived on the riverfront. It was years ago when the Govt was in a bit of strife and was cutting back on defence expenditure. A jfighter jet came streaking low along the river then went into a vertical climb, one wag said - well there goes the next six month's fuel budget . It was very spectacular

F111 afterburner + fuel dump.
It was indeed very spectacular

The wonderful sight of one of the Boral Bricks joint venture facilities with Forterra, called Meridian, as viewed from my new office at The Staybridge Suites at IAH would, ordinarily, make me homesick. Sadly as the CCR at LHR is where I spend more time than anywhere else I feel no more that a pang of sadness at this ‘little part’ of Australia. 😛
