Oh don't you start! :) ;)

Now, now, Jess - I thought that we were friends.

Any further imPERfect insinuations PERtaining to imPERtinent millennials PERmanently residing in PERfection in PERmanent bliss with a PERt partner, no matter how imPERceptible or PERtinent to someone else, I will never allow you to PERform a deflation - let alone any action PERtinent to an inflation - on my 4WD tyres ever again... ;):p 😂

How cOOLl must it be to MELlow in the DPRV - but HBA???, ADL???, BNE???, SYD??? have no claim on PERfection whatsoever.

Today. Yorke Peninsula. So much rain over night but today it's cleared away right? Nope. But we still ventured out. It was sunny when we left.
First stop Chinamans Hat Island (no doubt soon to be changed). It's a great surfing beach.

There are Covid signs everywhere - signmakers here are in business.

Cable Bay Beach - China Bay Beach. Usually a great surf spot but too much wind today.

More of Yorkes. The area is very similar to Great Ocean Road in Victoria, the state that must not be named. From our camping trips over the years it's become a lot more civilised with paved road and boardwalks. We had to walk over stony paths and run from the snakes.

Ethel Wreck. The most significant ship carnage in the 1900's. It's gradually rusting away. The wind was so strong that throwing a small rock ahead ended up coming back at you. One of us tried.

Pondolowie Bay Yorke Peninsula. There is a small modern boat smashed on the shore. Not sure when it was beached.

But nature is trying to restake it's claim of sandhills on the boardwalk.

Browns Beach. The place to ocean fish for salmon and there were lots of ocean fisherman. Braving it in the rain. It's a very long walk as the best places are on the far right. Right at the top of the beach. And the sand is very very boggy and 50 metre walk is a killer.

And Shell Beach. We thought an idyllic place to fish ourselves right?

Within less than five minutes the swell came in and brought this seaweed. No problem. Cast over it. Except as soon as you walked within half a metre you were enveloped with bugs. Small flies. Bitey things. Hey, this isn't PERth! 🤭

All looks very innocuous but immediately after I cast I was completely snagged. I can normally get out of snags but the swells were creating issues. Thankfully MrP likewise snagged and so we left.

Large Salt lakes everywhere here. There is no ocean inlet or outlet. Must be very low land level.

More locals. Mum/Dad caring for three chicks. Given they showed no road sense, the parent might need some lessons. They were just strolling across the road, coming back across while we sat and waited. For them to make up their minds.

Unfortunately just a bit further along the road we came across a guy who had just hit a smallish roo but in his large 4WD. Roo died and car didn't sustain more than cosmetic damage.

We used to bush camp at Brown's Beach every Easter - those were the days - a beer and a hot cross bun for breakfast.
