Decent views up there. We enjoyed a visit there in April, and the included beverage. From the 7th floor of the Guinness Storehouse. And yes, at the end of the pint, things were getting a little bit foggy!

this view is truly munificent when you actually there, no photo will relay it close enough.View from Chalet
To my eye things seem to have recovered well. A few spots on the way up you could see evidence of a past fire. Looking down the valley from the chalet there are a few " more brown"looking strips like the right foreground but with it being such a broad view it is not such a striking thing (phone camera also doesn't capture such detail). Being in a rental car we haven't driven all the way out to the dam on the dirt roadthis view is truly munificent when you actually there, no photo will relay it close enough.
Any damage there from bushfires? I remember reports area was heavily damaged.
Funny, I was in Katoomba over the long weekend - one night at Jenolan Caves House and 2 in an air BNB on Cliff Drive. I went with friends who organised it as a birthday treat for their mother (I am friend of said mother), It was certainly cold - that wind was biting Had to drive up through Oberon and Lithgow to get from the Caves to Katoomba as the other road is closed. We had High Tea at the Hydro Majestic on Sunday.Tell me, did you go to the Yellow DeliDay 2 in the Blue Mountains staying at the Carrington and a wander around Katoomba.

Yellow Deli twice, but fist time was too busy, and second time too early. So no, went to the Little Paris cafe for lunch which served up a very respectable Croque Madame.Funny, I was in Katoomba over the long weekend - one night at Jenolan Caves House and 2 in an air BNB on Cliff Drive. I've wanted to do Dark mof_ for a while - this outdoor feast area looks great. Maybe next year...Dark mof_ Winter Feast '22
I asked about the Yellow Deli because of its link to the Twelve Tribes cult. (It and the Common Ground bakery in Picton). There were people queuing outside every time we drove past. Wonder if they were there for a sticky beak. I was not interested in adding to their coffers at all. Members give all their money and possessions to the organisation and work voluntarily. There are at least 2 communal houses of the group in Katoomba.Walked past the

No shortage of cult and offbeat groups in Katoomba. We had a fellow in probably in his early sixties come up and start talking about Monatomic Gold as a white powder and the role it played in making the World whole again, treating every kind of disease and generally the go to substance.
