The view from my "office"

Sanctuary Cove for many years was our favourite holiday destination. Loved the surroundings, atmosphere & service. In the very beginning they had little club lounges dotted around with a happy hour - you'll recall it's built in what was a pretty swampy area so a wonderful breeding ground for mozzies. So happy hour started at 5 and at 5.30 along would come the little golf buggy squirting out clouds of mozzie repellent which rolled like fog over the lounge - it must have had a kerosene or similar base, absolutely disgusting and a signal for everyone to bolt to their rooms. One way of keeping costs down!

PJM's day off today. We had been thinking of slipping down to Margaret River yesterday afternoon for today but another tropical low rainy weather system coming S caused a reassessment. So, off to the new PER museum for a few hours.

Our first visit since it opened in November, after many years of no museum in PER. It's in Northbridge on the site of the original 19th century version.

It was good to see the blue whale skeleton that was always a highlight of a visit to the museum for many generations of kids.

20210310_082741-1.jpgMorning at my Margaret River office at Gnarabup Beach for a couple of days. Bit of work, but some relaxation as haven't been away in ages. Heading to Vasse Felix later but just a simple wine lounge lunch and gallery visit. Probably no wine for me at lunch as the police seem to be doing lots of daytime breath testing around town. Never mind I will bring a bottle back for the evening and some to take home.

With a spot of deforestation it would almost be a dream view. This morning I'll be working from my office at the Doubletree on Junction 2 of the M6. What more could anyone want in a view - a speed bump, orange cone, prime hotel service road view and beyond the trees one can gaze at traffic bustling along the A4600.

...and yes that is a showcase cinema complex in the background.

Sculpture by the Sea at Cottesloe was, unsurprisingly, a bit light on this year.

Some of the massive earthmoving observed last week (post #16126) ended up being a bit of an anticlimax.
