Beer at bottle shop is 430Rs for a 500ml can ( no difference if buying a case) and between 770-1100 (including general 10% service charge) at cafes/restaurants/bars for 625ml bottle.
If you buy bottles at shop there is a deposit scheme so haven't been getting bottles from shop as cans are much easier to move around with

I’ve always known the correct pronunciation. Å is the last letter of the Norwegian alphabet and is pronounced “o”. Hence “Flom”.

Our mobile phones were waking many of us this morning with an emergency announcement. I have now turned off emergency alerts, although someone on today’s tour had not! It’s the Captain’s job to look after weather alerts. Not me at 2.30am!

This morning I had a smaller floating “office” through a few fjords. There were well over a hundred waterfalls! Stunning scenery in all directions. (The yellow orbs are the lights inside the boat. It has been raining gently but steadily all day.)

Despite the dire wind warnings all yesterday, nothing happened that we could see. The Captain took a very careful route through fjords and was prepared to duck back into one if necessary. The rain eventually stopped in the wee hours.

Partner and I were booked to take trip up Norwegian coast on Hurtigruten in 2021 which we had to cancel because of the covid. Unfortunately, my partner has since been diagnosed with cancer and has been undergoing extensive treatment for 14 months. Until treatment all finished, there is no chance of us even considering rebooking.

Pretty much the same weather as when I visited it. Didn't appreciate the weather as we went from there to Gudvangen (from memory) by cat ferry and it was bloody freezing!

Geiranger, Norway. I opened my “office” curtains this morning to be greeted with this beautiful sight. (Yes, more waterfalls!)

I thought I would offer up Flam/surrounds on a clear day, just to compare to @Port Power's great shots of the spooky fog. Though these photos are about 18 months old, I must admit. If you're ever in Norway, spending a day going the long way from Bergen-Oslo (or vv) is well worth it...this is one time you actually don't want to fly.






I don't think the vistas of Norway can really be beaten.

Single runway ops in SYD which mean an unusual landing path and lots of circling which is always fun for us golden triangle commuters
