My office Saturday- 50 year Nurses reunion at a Richmond ( Vic) pub. Only had 3 starters in June, attended by 30!

On arrival at NRT the weather was still grey and very wet. Unfortunately I had to wait over 3 hours before I could check in with Singapore Airlines.

I did go to the ANA lounge, but it was crowded and there was only some lukewarm vegetables I could eat. I drank a G&T and decided to move to the United lounge.





The lounge is much quieter and not as closely packed. Plus USB ports to charge the phone. The food is a bit better, including a tasty chick pea “curry”. A nice Australian Cabernet Sauvignon though.

My roses are settling in. Most have survived but some have various diseases I do not understand so may need to come out soon. Lots of new buds. Some beautiful colours.

If the disease not taken to the main trunk/base can just trim it off all the way back. Might be able to save it. Roses are quite hardy in general.

Currently sitting in this morning’s office, the SilverKris Lounge at Changi T3 with some fruit and a cup of tea. My flight arrived at 01:20, so I had booked into the Ambassador Transit Hotel at T2, which included breakfast. Turns out that breakfast was in the Ambassador Transit Lounge, also used by Plaza Premium and many others. It was quiet and there was a nice little buffet of English and Asian food. Plus ice cream! (7:30am)







Best of all was the outlook into the Sunflower Garden.

The final leg of our RTW trip sees us staying at Amanpulo in the Philippines. After a few weeks of cities my feet are looking forward to 5 days of no shoes and sand between our toes. I am without words as to how beautiful the island is, the friendliness of the staff and the facilities


Each Casita gets a golf buggy to get around the island


Access is via a Twin Otter charter.

Thanks. Need to check again in January to see how roses have progressed.

The good thing about Thailand is the cost of roses. Most of what you see I purchased for between $2-$4. If there's been no growth in the smaller plants by January I will try to replace them with new plants.
