Currently sitting in the restaurant in the new Wing lounge..will post some pics soon..got almost 4 hours in here now..

So far looks very good even beyond the shiny new lounge feel..

The Champagne bar, open areas and Cabanas look fantastic :) The Haven resembles a uni cafeteria in its utilitarian decor from the picture in the AusBT article  Maybe it has more character in real life ?

No it doesn't. Desserts are nice however

Another shot of the eatery

And who doesn't like a sweeping airport vista shot?. Its very bright and mighty now, I think it will be way cool at night as you can see the planes taking off and landing

It looks great from the photos - what is the menu like?

Sorry about the size of the photos, I'm posting directly from my phone so didn't have a chance to reduce the size.

There is meant to be an a la carte menu...

I know, certainly didn't see it anywhere, and noone else eating there had one, they were all going to the buffet. It is only the second day, perhaps they aren't ready for it yet? Or maybe closer to dinner time? Mind you its almost 6pm here..

I expect nothing of the sort from QF for the HKG F Lounge. All I expect is that they have an open roofed space, so some comfy seating which will be more or less quiet (more because it is not the lounge of choice).

To be fair to QF HKG is not their home port so you wouldnt expect their lounge to rival CX - in the same way that CX's lounge in SYD doesnt rival the QF lounge - oh wait CX havent even bothered to build a lounge in SYD...

Let's be fair CX have built what looks to be a fantastic lounge in their home port that rivals any other F lounge (not F terminal) in the world - as we expected.

No sign of a spa?

Just to show my cultural ignorance do the Chinese not do the European style spa? I know of chinese massage but am ignorant of what the chinese expect of a spa and whether that is something one would expect in a lounge.

Well my hopes of being on an earlier flight have been dashed, very busy flights due to Chinese New Year exodus out of Hong Kong...that means another three hours to go here..

Any requests?

PS. If you use the mensroom (or ladies I presume), watch out, they are VERY dark I had trouble finding the extent of the walls...

Could you sneak in some photos of the buffet? :)

Well, if the cabana's are all full, can you check to see if they have they improved the ventilation in the showers?

No need to post photo's, I'll be happy with verbal feedback!

Don't worry nothing incriminating in the attached shower shots..

For some reason all the corridoring is quite dark..this one is actually much brighter than the ones to the toilets..

A bit trippy in my opinion.

Well I still have about two and a half hours to go before boarding, I'm sure I'll get hungry again ;) This time I'll ask if there's a al carte menu.

I will have to do my obligatory leaving the lounge early to wander around the airport though..

Every good lounge deserves a coughtail.
