The WP shadow

I've looked at many many random dates and they all are 'occupied' wonder if T-80 still works?

T-80 still works - I suspect there is a current EF glitch for QF seating at the moment as reported in earlier posts. I qualified for WP1 a week or so ago. As expected, achieving WP1 opened up Row 4/5 on EF to me outside of T-80 right up until last Wednesday evening - now Row 4, for my QFF WP1 status profile is completely blocked (738's) as are the emergency rows - be interested to see if other WP1's are experiencing the same.

Hi All

Just been talking to a member of the P1 Team and as previously posted by others they confirmed that they are still having issues with the Shadow on the system and it has been given the highest priority to get it fixed.

What was more interesting, and perhaps others may know better, was the comment that the shadow does not apply to International Flights, it is for domestic flights, and that they can, if requested, do a soft block, however basically one should not expect a shadow on International flights as either a WP or P1. I thought that the shadow applied for both domestic and international?

QF### domestic early this week BNE-SYD. Myself, WP1 selected 4D well outside of T-80, 4F taken around T-48, 4E taken around T-12. Behind Row 4 is very, very open to the extent that only Row 4 is fully occupied in the whole plane. 4A,B,C selected from T-80 to T-24. Something has definately changed with QF treatment of WP1 and WP's wrt Row 4 (73H) and notwithstanding Ansett's assertions that QF are trying to fix the problem, the question needs to be asked "Why does the problem with the "WP shadow" exist to the extent that it needs fixing in the first place?" - QF obviously had a policy change and now are communicating, through the P1 team, of an attempti to reverse it - the time taken to "correct" this situation suggests that QF are awaiting the "feedback" to this enhancement. I would suggest that any solution could be immediate if this current situation surround shadowing wasn't intentional - I don't expect any changes in Row 4 (73H) policy soon to this "enhancement".

Qf730, 30 minutes before scheduled departure. I see 32 empty aisle/window seats and 17 taken middle seats through the romper room mirror.

Edit: Bizzarre! The front section then changed to every seat upto row 14 taken except for blocks in 4E and 13E. 4F was silver, 4B was platinum. But in reality very few middle seats were actually occupied and 13C and 14D, for example, had 3 seats each.

A shadow in business class?

Quite possible if only 8/30 seats occupied. ;) I feel lonely. Economy looks to be more cosy. :p

I selected 4A at T-80 as I do every SYD-DRW return flight I do. 4C was already taken. Check online this morning and now the whole row 4 is occupied including B and E. Plenty of other seats available. Not sure why someone would take a middle seat when others are available.

Something is definitely amiss with the shadow that I have experienced in every flight in the SYD-DRW run during the past 4 years that I have been WP.

Oh FFS. Mrs_O and I were in 6A and 6C until T-80 when I snagged 4D and 4F. 4A/C were already occupied and 4B/E were empty. Now both rows 4 and 5 are chockers and 6B/E are empty. What is going on with the shadow? There are so many empty seats even allowing for those who haven't selected with 9s across the board in Y according to EF. Grrr!

I guess I should have stayed in row 6 which is clearly the new reserved WP row.

I dunno how their systems work - but it kind of makes sense they can't entirely block off row 4. What if there was a passenger with a guide dog for example? Who might need the extra room. Blocking off row 4 might mean that passenger had to be seated somewhere else?

I guess. I solved the problem anyway. EF was showing U3, so a quick call to the Premium Desk means we are now in 1A/C.

Is the seat still blocked towards the end of check-in?

Had someone in 4B and 4E (next to me) last week. It appeared 6EF and 7EF were vacant. The guy in 4C was not happy and got permission to move back before take-off?

Noticed this too today on a 737 rows 4 & 5 are showing as occupied when in fact they're not? enhancement? simpler/fairer? new feature? system issue?

Seems this issue is fixed, the front 2 rows are now blocked rather than showing as occupied.
I wonder if the WP shadow is also fixed?

No shadow on an upcoming MEL-SYD flight for me WP, do you get shadows when there are two people on a booking (1xWP and 1xSG)? 6C and 6D no shadow next to either of us

I'll stand corrected but you may not be able to see your own shadow if logged in with your WP details. You could try viewing it with the SG details to see if the shadow then shows.

I tried to do that but it says my last name on expertflyer doesn't match my +1 ff name

I can confirm the shadows are back! It is finally working the way it should be! Picture below, my self in 4C for tomorrows flights, I have my wife's FF number in EF (WP)

Change to my FF number in EF (WP1) & the blocked seat disappears!

Thanks QF! Im pretty happy this is fixed now.

But do shadows still exist for us lowly WPs, that's what I'd like to know.
