Think I got food poisoning from Jetstar

Not much given that kitchen does not presently cater for any Qantas group need.
No but it does show that it can happen and all of the naysayers in here who instantly dismissed the possibility of it happening are probably feeling a little foolish right now.

I beg to differ, it shows that it can be caught before it gets into the consumers hand. Given listeria has an incubation period of 90 days and the industry is a lot more careful after the DJ wrap issue from 2009, it shows proof that you are LESS likely to have been infected from a source in the industry as a result of the learnings versus your local fisho or burger joint.

As studies published by many health authorities show, actual samples often indicate a cause thats never mentioned by the person providing the sample as the obvious culprit, without evidence, we can only assume innocence.

Yes it can, doesn't mean it always will though. They have systems in place to check for this kind of thing, but nothing is fail safe.

That is not a fact and simply your opinion. And in my case the only food I ate 36 hours prior to the Jetstar meal was "industry" food, so I am fairly sure it was the industry that caused it and not a fish and chip shop as you would suggest.

You and a few others here assume innocence, not everyone.

Even with news that an Australian based airline catering firm being shut down yesterday you still refuse to accept that it could happen to a person who has flown on an Australian carrier. LOL That is a very closed mind approach and I guess there is nothing I can do to change that.

All I can say is I am happy that they found it on this occasion so that nobody gets as sick as I did, that is provided of course that some portions were not already sent out prior to the discovery.

.

I dont assume it cannot happen at all, just saying the science suggests the probability of you being infected by bacteria from a food catering organisation designed for airline operations is minimal, given the lack of publicity or reports from any health department of similar outbreaks reported by other passengers, the evidence suggests that to be a reasonable way of thinking. For what its worth, the catering arm is not Australian based, its a small offshoot of a large organisation with 50 kitchens across the world and is wholly owned by Dnata, which in turn is an Emirates Airlines company.

It there is a problem, it wont be just Mal Ware that will have issues, it will be hundreds possibly thousands that eat from the same source, given the environment described, yet all we hear is a lone voice casting dispersions without evidence, I dont believe that is conclusive!

Mal Ware, I don't think Markis has the closed mind approach.

The culprit is not as cut and dry, so the possibility the source is not the Jetstar food is there.

Not at all.You still have no proof that it was indeed food poisoning.
The same symptoms can be gastroenteritis unrelated to food.
If you go on most cruise ships today you will notice the hand sanitiser as things such as novovirus can be picked up by contact-even surfaces such as hand rails.

Bill: Hi John, how are you?
John: Hi Bill, yeah, not too well. A bit crook. I think something I ate on the last flight didn't agree with me.
Bill: I'm afraid, you're mistaken John. The culprit is that hand rail over there.
John: Cheers Bill.

If that was Dr Bill, I would believe him ;), even if I did not agree with Dr Bills choice of golf attire all the time!
