Thinking it's time to give VA the flick

My two Virgin interactions since the intro of Sabre have been flawless. My first ever Europcar rental points posted correctly within about three days of rental.

I may be wrong, but point posting from a car rental agency isn't really related to Sabre?

I may be wrong, but point posting from a car rental agency isn't really related to Sabre?

Sabre provides frequent flyer management as well as flight management, whether its part of the VA system I am not sure, the change in points crediting with Europcar would indicate a yes!

I may have completely misunderstood earlier discussion, but I was under the impression that most of the problems with the Velocity Rewards website came from the fact that it is an independent "tack-on". Does anyone know what was being used and what is being used now for the Velocity components. Of course just because there's a FF component in Sabre doesn't mean VA will use it.

Currently I believe that velocity is split accross both Sabre and the Old system hence the reason it doesn't work that well...

You can tell becuase the Velocity Login on the Booking Engine and the Find My Booking using Velocity Number are both components of the Sabre Frequent Flyer management solution. The old velocity website and your velocity account are all managed via the old Velocity system that was linked to Navitare and is now linked to Sabre.

I am fairly certain that they will eventually transfer all of Velocity over the Sabre as this would (hopefully) result in a more streamlined experience.

At present, car rental points allocated would be occuring with no sabre interaction (so these bits a probably still working fine), all the points from flights would presumably now be coming through Sabre (and not quite working perfectly yet).
