Reminds me of the story about the girl who went to the Police Station to report a rape, and when the Officer asked if she could describe anything about him that would assist in identifying him, to which she replied she was sure he was an Australian batsman because he wasn't in long :)

It's that brittle English batting!!

1 - 1 with two tests to play from where I am sitting!!

and now 6/156.

I went to lunch (staff xmas lunch) at midday BNE time (start of play) and couldn't access until I came back to work. Now after 1/4 bottle of champagne, I'm just going to sit here whilst I sober up and watch the cricket.

I logged back into cricinfo...lucky there was only 1 female staff member left when I let rip with a "You little %%$$ing beautyyyyyyy" that I'm sure the shopkeepers on the ground floor heard too  - might have to go and apologise when I leave later.

A good start by the English, but an excellent comeback (6/68 after the Poms were 0/78).

Ripped through the heart of the English batting...finally they are showing SOME BLOODY BACKBONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And now 7/181.

The Aussies are showing some fighting spirit. The balance of the match has swung around. That first innings score could prove very valuable.

Geez - can't believe the score. So is this a bowler's pitch or did Australia finally show some teeth?

Ponting proved he has some worth, taking a catch. Johnson has also repaid part of his earlier sins to take a swag of wickets.

No, a pity.

62.3
Johnson to Anderson, OUT, it's all over. Johnson has six. Anderson hangs his bat out at a short ball outside off and the edge flies comfortably to Watson at first slip
JM Anderson c Watson b Johnson 0
62.2
Johnson to Finn, 1 run, 138.9 kph, Finn gets off the mark by staying steady and pushing a short of a length delivery towards square leg
62.1
Johnson to Tremlett, OUT, 139.4 kph, gone! Johnson gets five, with a cracking inswinger that takes the off stump out of the ground. Really well bowled and Johnson has deserved that haul - now, can Australia finish England off before tea?
CT Tremlett b Johnson 2

Okay, now our bowlers have done their duty. Batsmen, time to find some backbone and stand up to the Poms bowling attack!

Johnson 6/38 and 62 (top score) in the first innings.

Could you ever believe you'd see the words:
England trail by 81 runs
after our dismal showing in the first innings??

Hughes out for 12 after surviving the opening spell.

Australia 1/32.

So far 11 wickets on the day with 25 overs remaining. My money is still on Australia to win....

Ponting out for 1. I hope this is not the end.

Australia 2 for 34!
