Third Ashes Test, Perth

At this rate the test match does not look like getting through to Sunday.

Australia lead by by 200 exactly and the test match is as good as over.

So the series should be level at 1-1 going to Melbourne and Sydney.

The big question now would be do they risk keeping the same side assuming that the conditions in Perth have contributed to the result as well as some good individual performances?

Am amazed at Australia's performance yesterday, I for one had written them off - very glad to be proven wrong!
Mitchell Johnson was like a completely different player to BNE.

Spoken like a true pommie!
Actually spoken like a true Australian who has not been fooled by 1 day's performance.

We can't actually say that 2010 has been a successful year in test cricket. Can we? Should have lost the clearly corrupt test to Pakistan in Sydney, beat New Zealand (what is their test ranking?), lost again to Pakistan in England, lost to India and then dominated by England until this test.

The worst thing that can happen to Australia is thinking the latest changes or non-changes are the solution to our problems. There are still a few under achievers and one is being touted as the next captain. Take note that apart from Johnson in this test only Watson, Hussey and Haddin have scored runs and only Siddle has taken wickets. Not many positives to take away.

And let's be realistic here. We are fighting England for 4th spot in the Test rankings. In my humble we still have a long way to go to regain number 1 spot and the current team is not the one that is going to do it. But for now let's just take it one test at a time.

Being too analytical/critical of Australia's performances does not make a pommie. I have 2 nationalities. One is the country of my birth and the other is the nationality I will have for the rest of my life. Neither makes me a pommie....

I'm quite pleased I had my little wager on Australia to win the Perth Test the day after the end of the Adelaide Test. :)

The tail is being slowly cleaned up here.

A mere modest lead that Australia will have to defend England from achieving, unless Hussey can be given more of the strike end.

Austalia finally all out for 309 and a lead of 390.

England in serious trouble at 3 for 55 with another 30+ minutes to go tonight.

Unless weather intervenes we go to Melbourne 1-1 in the series....

Cricket tragic here. Fresh from a blistering 55 not out this arvo.
I am making a big call...we (Australia) will win the Ashes.
