This is dinner on QF CNS - SYD

How about the meal? If passengers are advised they are going to get dinner then none of this is of any importance to them. They’ve paid their $ and would expect to be fed appropriately and as marketed. Customers cannot influence any of the profit factors so it’s of no help to them.

Yes, and if Qantas cannot do a proper meal, for any reason, then they should just advertise food included in ticket price, just like VA does now.

Unfortunately I find there are too many QF fans around Australia who will always fly QF no matter what QF dishes to them. I have to say that for domestic VA provide far more value than QF per dollar spend.

Interesting way, and also very informative. Can you do the same comparison 2015 thru to 2018?

From the annual reports and some calculations (last one is difficult, could be wrong).
2017 vs 2016 Revenue down 1.3%, RPKs down 1.4% ... almost no charge in revenue per unit
2016 vs 2015: Revenue down 2%, RPKs down 1% ... average fare decrease??
2015 vs 2014: Revenue down 0.3% RPKs down 3.4% ... fare increase??

What is clear that before that QF was in a world of hurt as they fought with VA for the "line in the sand" and fares were lower (the sentiment expressed, in the 2015 report) was that demand growth was not keeping up with capacity expansions. Low fares to fill planes.

I have to try that one day just to see how bad it tastes. I eat a lot of Asian buns in my life so based on people's feedback it must be really bad.

I love this style of Asian buns and trust me (or try for yourself) the ones QF serve are absolutely terrible.

I wonder the burn tastes terrible is because it is inspired by "some famous Aussie chefs" and tried to please all kinds of travellers, and ended up not pleasing anyone at all.

Maybe those buns should be inspired by Tim Ho Wan...

Not sure when I can try it, as my requalification year for VA Platinum has just begun.

Gourmert taste sensations.Had 1 bite of the squashed chicken and leek pie-insipid.One bite of the shepherd's pie-a small amount of brown staining under the potato I assume where the meat should have been.So didn't bother with the quiche.

Don't know what you're complaining about. Looks pretty gourmet to me!

The funny thing though was our flight had been delayed 2 hours and as catering could not be quaranteed we each got a $15 food voucher for the terminal. So fortunately we didn't have to eat the good looking but tasteless things.

Just lukewarm.
And not a patch on the old NPPP's.I still miss them.

Cairns to Brisbane today in 'Y' had the chicken and leak pie, I don't claim to be a gourmand, although I do enjoy food and wine without it being the be-all and end-all of my existence, and it was fine, the crust wasn't soggy, which is always a good thing, there were actually pieces of chicken in it, and it was warm to hot, I wasn't complaining.

Coincidentally, I picked @scharon up from the airport the other day. One of her first comments bout the flight was the three chicken steamed buns. "They were tiny and far too sweet. I din't bother eating them".

That is all.
