Does Tiger employ anyone over the age of 22 or are they the 'Maccas' of the skies???
What about the moron who sparked up a ciggie on the tarmac on the way to board?? Pleaded ingnorance. Muppet.
On the tarmac? he was definitely airside, but it looked more like a holding area, not tarmac, for a start dare i mention the roof and all the people milling around under the roof. What about the moron who sparked up a ciggie on the tarmac on the way to board?? Pleaded ingnorance. Muppet.

Sure the guy was a massive goose and shouldn't have lit up. but it's bad enough without trying to sex it up and claim he was on tarmac.
Look, whatever the case...
To complete the saga, he flew on another airline to OOL later that day at a much higher cost.Nah, Tiger threw the book at him, kicked him off, called the police. Police saw the lack of merit in the case and just gave him a warning.
I knew cigarettes were expensive but that is a ridiculous price to pay :!:To complete the saga, he flew on another airline to OOL later that day at a much higher cost.
Apparently offloading is an automatic Policy for anyone caught smoking so.

Not sure from the story how you can conclude that he was on the tarmac. I saw a tiger staff member on a radio under cover telling someone he was caught on the tarmac. I never saw him on the tarmac. I then saw the guy talking about them all being outside waiting for a delayed aircraft that had been delayed a long time. The whole story was further described in a way that implied the aircraft still hadn't left.To clarify.
When the Tiger staff member detected him smoking he was outside on the tarmac. When you saw him on TV he was back in a sheltered area or holding area where he had been escorted to whilst he awaited the AFP.
I did not try to "sex it up" or embelish what happened, I'm not ACA or TT.

The 2 sides of the story don't add up. But one thing I don't believe that even Tiger would make the pax wait on the tarmac for a delayed aircraft.
Fair enough. given the contradiction with the guys story (not that I'm saying he did the right thing) I'm not prepared to accept the claims of Tiger of being perfectAs you mentioned "I saw a tiger staff member on a radio under cover telling someone he was caught on the tarmac'
Thats how I concluded it.
To be pedantic once you have gone out the doors, and even if under a covered walkway, it is defined as 'Tarmac area' which is how that would have come about. As you mentioned "I saw a tiger staff member on a radio under cover telling someone he was caught on the tarmac'
Thats how I concluded it.

Clearly there was no good samaritan on the flight to the Gold Coast with the kids, as surely anyone (over 18) could have taken charge of the 9-year-old minor?
