Time for Qantas Finally to Dump Neil Perry? Rockpool Engaged in Massive Wage Theft (alleged)

If this complaint is founded, Neil Perry's reputation is going to take an enormous hit. Might just be enough to get Qantas to dump him:

Neil Perry's Rockpool Dining Group allegedly destroyed and doctored timesheets to cover up underpayment, a detailed complaint lodged with the workplace watchdog alleges.

In a 14-page complaint made on behalf of the union Hospo Voice, labour law firm Maurice Blackburn has demanded the Fair Work Ombudsman seek substantial financial penalties against Rockpool, alleging the high-end restaurant group was responsible for one of the “most egregious cases of wage theft” seen in Australia.

It'll be interesting to see if Alan Joyce eviscerates the guilty party as ruthlessly and as publically as those unfortunate enough to express views contrary to his own. This is a far worse crime in my opinion. QF should boot him for his association with Crown too.

I am not sure if it it time to finger Neil Perry for the blame.He sold out to Quadrant private equity group in October 2016.The article only gives 2017 as the time this practice was noted.I think the finger is pointing towards someone else than Neil Perry as the instigator of these deceptions.
A pity as NP's menus are one of the reasons we have deserted QFi.

This is already made perfectly clear in the article: 'Rockpool Dining Group’s major owner is private equity firm Quadrant Private Equity with Perry the public face of the group. Perry is not in charge of the day-to-day operations of the business and has not been personally accused of being involved in the doctoring of hours.'

But the reason Qantas use NP is due to his brand. It's certainly not due to his innovative 'salads'. If that brand becomes tarnished, Qantas would have every reason to dump him.

You also have to remember that Qantas is deeply embedded with the Rockpool group, not just NP. Look at all the references to Rockpool on this page: International inflight dining | Qantas AU

I haven't said otherwise and it appears the article is incorrect in claiming his is an owner. But more importantly, it appears the dodgy practices occurred while he was the owner. Keeps him on the hook, wouldn't you say?

Of course it's all allegedly at this point, even though some millions have been repaid, and it'll be deny, deny, deny from everyone anyway. No one ever admits to anything, even though some more millions will be repaid, but lets at least hope we are spared yet another public figure going the blub on the telly.
