OK, I think you three sweet talkers have won me over! I'll cancel the Europcar booking I just made (that's very satisfying in itself)!
I factor in points earned when considering a hire car. Most times it works out cheaper than a taxi.

Yep, so do I and I agree totally, often a rental is cheaper or about the same price as a taxi, but it's not just points to factor in, it's fuel and parking. In this case, the taxi is far cheaper.

Gosh for $25 you must get a tour round Victoria square. - only one way into the Hilton. Flag fall slides it a touch higher. The backpackers option is $5 on the public bus !

The public bus is now $5.40 or $5.80.

No tour around Victoria Square, just the Friday evening traffic in Gouger St if arriving in the evening. Have tried the bus and it seems to take a long time. Not that much cheaper when there are 2 of us.

Any news on this? hoping here:-|

KitKat I feel your pain.
I have asked a couple of times now , last post 125, that Platinums pay for their ticket(s) so I know where we stand. Unfortunately I am not getting any response. What am I to do?
Should I say that if there are a couple of tickets unsold by say Monday they are yours? Happy for some input here. I am holding a ticket or 2, I am only relating to those that have not made contact.

Below is a list of the Platinum attendees.
All have paid except for wooley.
If anybody knows wooley or how to get in touch with wooley, could you please let him/her know that they need to get in contact with me urgently so that I can establish if they are in fact attending this event. TIA.

If wooley hasn't surfaced and either made communication or payment to you by 7/10, then I would nominate the spot be given to KitKat...

Others may disagree, but that's my thoughts Buzz...

With the event now only just over 2 weeks away, I thought it timely to post a couple of reminders.

Firstly, there is a get together on Saturday night. For anybody interested in coming along see THIS thread.
You need not be a part of the Clare Valley tour to attend the Saturday social.
I am waiting to hear from Romney if the Saturday venue is BYO. If it is, I'm organising a mini Clare Valley wine tasting.

Secondly and most important, this tour departs at 08:30 SHARP! It is a bit further out to the Clare and we are trying to fit in 4 wineries. As always, we are on a tight schedule because we need to get people back to the airport on time.
Once we start to run late it becomes difficult to make up time. The last thing we want to do is drop a cellar door.

For those that have not been on one of my tours before, the departure point is outside the Convention Centre on North Terrace (bottom of the escalators) a short walk west from the tram stop opposite the Casino. For anybody staying at the Hilton it is an easy commute. There is a tram stop opposite the Hilton and it is only 3 stops to the Casino (just make sure you head in the correct direction ) and the tram on this route is free.

If you have any questions, feel free to send me a PM and I will assist where I can.

I failed to ask if anybody has any dietry requirements for our lunch.
If so, please PM me ASAP so that your details can be noted.

And the good news keeps coming.

I have been given 2 bottles of Clare wine for a mini tasting on the coach.
We have a bottle of Riesling and a bottle of Cabernet.

Please be aware that there are restrictions to consuming alcohol on the coach.
We are only permitted to drink this wine as we are covered by the producers licence and we must consume it within the bounds of the Clare Valley. We are not permitted to drink otherwise without a special events licence, which we do not have.
Should the vehicle be stopped or involved in an accident, the driver will be in serious bother so please do the right thing.

I can confirm the venue is BYO! $10 per bottle corkage. Looks like you're in business Buzz :-)

I am due to land at ADL at 1445 on Saturday (QF)...anyone else arriving around the same time and want to share a ride into town?
