As per another post, I've picked up some cheap Veuve, thinking of bringing a bottle... or two . What's the Bus policy of drinking while on the bus Buzz lol...?

I guess at worst, its Bubbly at first stop then...!

These events are always enjoyable, well done again Buzz

Unless we apply and pay for a special events licence which will add $100 or more to the cost of the event, we are not permitted to drink alcohol on the bus. Maybe we need another sponsor.

There are a couple of Platinums that have not yet purchased their ticket(s).
Unless you have contacted me, can you please make your purchase so that numbers can be confirmed, payments made for the coach etc, and allow others to join this tour should you have changed your mind about attending.

Your cooperation is appreciated.

Also, stay tuned for details regarding a Saturday night get together which will not be restricted to those attending the tour.

So, may I ask......what is the best way from airport to Hilton return?

I've currently got a car booked as I like the independence of it (even though I have no intention of using it for anything but the transfers). Its cost for 2 days + the parking fee comes out at $117.21 and it's for 3 people (so $39 return transfer per person). Are there better options and if so, is the saving worthwhile?

Uber Black will set you back about $50 for the one way. We usually catch a cab for less than that.

There's a new bus from the airport to the city, like Skybus in Melbourne. I am unsure of details, but a quick search should tell you.

Less than Uber or less than the hire car?

For a difference of $17. I think I'd just stick with the convenience of the rental!

Less than uber. Around $25 from memory I think.

Roo Flyer and I shared a public taxi a while ago and it was just under $30 one way to Hilton (light traffic).

Wow! That's a turn up for the books! For $50 (give or take), that'd sway me away from a rental.

Taxi Fare Calculator suggests between $17 and $25 on on Friday afternoon from airport to Hilton. At the higher estimate (both ways) that's going to be ~$17 per person. While I cannot vouch for the accuracy, I cabbed it from ADL to Hilton last year (I had to for time reasons, otherwise I may well have caught the bus, which I have done before but it involves a 5 or 10 minute walk IIRC to get from stop to Hilton and vv) and ISTR it costing round $20 to $25.

OK, I think you three sweet talkers have won me over! I'll cancel the Europcar booking I just made (that's very satisfying in itself)!

A little reminder. please drop me to bronze.

I have not updated the attendees list because the tour is booked out and on wait list so only the listed Platinums are coming.

Do appreciate your reminder however and I shall check out that rooftop garden. Thanks for the tip.

Shout your group to a trip in a nice limo :p

Re: Titanic II: Tour of the Clare (Nov 1, 2015 - Wine Tour]

We have usually paid $25 from airport to Hilton. Once a bit more bacause of Friday evening in Gouger St.

Re: Titanic II: Tour of the Clare (Nov 1, 2015 - Wine Tour]

Gosh for $25 you must get a tour round Victoria square. - only one way into the Hilton. Flag fall slides it a touch higher. The backpackers option is $5 on the public bus !
