Qantas has announced cessation of their Korea flights and reduction in the BNE-LAX utilisation mid 2025 when the Reno’s start. Qantas has said something about gaining the slotThey need to reduce A330 flying (somewhere) to allow the planned cabin upgrade. They could also resume service to KIX or CTS. There is nothing saying they need (or want) to maintain a 4th daily AU-TYO flight once the MEL and BNE flights shift to HND.
Once they get official approval for the flights we will see timetable changes including the NRT SYD flights, probably next month.Qantas International CEO Cam Wallace said the airline is “very pleased at today’s IASC determination”.
“With this third frequency, we plan to be the only airline to connect Australia’s three major east coast cities with Haneda Airport – right in the heart of downtown Tokyo,” he stated.
“Now that we have approval from the IASC, we will apply for slots at Haneda for flights from Melbourne and Brisbane and, subject to this process, plan to go on sale towards the end of the year.
