After our Bentley ride and visit to the lounge, we boarded an MH flight to KL. A quick and uneventful flight. No alcohol but breakfast was served.

Once we arrived in KL we transited to the international area, then caught the train to the terminal where the First lounge is located. It was nice and quiet.

They have men's and women's nap rooms

And a full service dining room. I had the wonton soup and chocolate tart.

Once we were done we took the train back to the other terminal and made our way to our gate. Security was done at the gate, and it wasnt long till we were on the flight to SIN.

So you’d recommend this LE deal then TomCat?

Love this sign in the bathrooms at KL.

Once in SIN we went to the transfer desk to make sure our bags were taken care of (MH had tagged them all the way through to MEL despite being on SQ for the last leg), then we transferred to T3 and went for a wander.
I love the butterfly house.

Then we headed to the J lounge. Pretty impressed with the array of food available, lots of different curries. Champagne is the Charles Heidsieck, same as on board. Was lucky to get a shower before the line appeared too, it got quite busy.

Soon after @penegal appeared clutching a glass of Dom P from TPR. Unfortunately he was only allowed one guest into the F lounge, so whisked TV away so he could use the showers. I figured he'd get enjoyment from the F lounge champagne (Piper Rare) whereas I could not. However soon Penegal reappeared to collect me, as they decided he could have an extra guest "just this once".

Eeyore did enjoy comparing the Piper Rare and the Dom P. I like that each lounge has a very difference Champagne glass (F on the right, TPR on the left).

Then it was time to trek to the gate for our flight. Happy to see the 777 had been refitted (same bird we flew F on two years ago), and the seat is quite an improvement with far more storage. The trade-off though is that the foot cubby is a bit smaller than the older seat, but given I curl up on my side its not such a big deal.

I imagine the conversation went like:

TV: Im on my babymoon!
Agent: Congratulations!
TV: Yes, my pregnant wife is in the J lounge.

:p

That would be penegals convo I reckon.

Just keeping SQ on their toes with the Qantas amenities bag I see.

As usual I didn't quite finish the TR....there wasn't much more to report other than the service on my side of the cabin being a bit slack. When I woke the FAs on the right side were rushing drinks and croissants out to PAX for a quick bit before landing. Not so on my side; I had to flag someone down and practically beg for food (no one likes a hangry pregnant lady). Even then I was given a croissant, but no butter/jam that everyone else was receiving. Nor was there any assistance putting my bed back into seat mode.

Luggage also took forever to come out (that's MEL for you), but at least our MH-tagged bags appeared as expected.

I really hate it when one side of the cabin has much better service than the other, no excuse really. As for the croissant I had the same problem in BA F a few years ago. One croissant on plate and that was it!

This seems to be a common problem. Service on my side in recent Q suites was forgetful compared with the ‘other half’. Literally. Another lapse seems to occur with front rows versus those further back. In one Qatar flight there is a separate rear area. That person served all those in there very promptly. I suspect that’s why we ran out of first preference food items sitting very close in rows three and five.

We head off on our next Luxury Escapes deal this week! 8 nights at the Passage Samui. We've booked a pool-side villa which I'm looking forward to. Direct pool access and our own reserved lounges. Breakfast every day, eight massages, coughtails every day, a couple of dinners and airport transfers. As per our last trip we've booked SQ J using VA points.

Would you believe we leave tomorrow and I haven't packed yet 😳
I would. Life changes with babies. For a very long time. As for TomV well I’m guessing it’s first thing tomorrow. And asking you why it’s taking you so long.

He finally unpacked from the last trip 😂

I have piles of things to pack, they just aren’t in a bag. Someone’s sleep has been a bit off this week so things seem to take longer.
