We head off on our next Luxury Escapes deal this week! 8 nights at the Passage Samui. We've booked a pool-side villa which I'm looking forward to. Direct pool access and our own reserved lounges. Breakfast every day, eight massages, coughtails every day, a couple of dinners and airport transfers. As per our last trip we've booked SQ J using VA points.

Hmmmm, thanks for the inspo, I have been thinking about this all day!
We are looking for a winter escape for next year, you may have found the answer.

Have a fabulous trip, looking forward to your updates!

We are up and away. Row 19 on the SQ A350. Lots of leg room and they'll set up the bassinet once the seatbelt sign is off. Miss is already sound asleep on my lap and hopefully stays that way.

A bit of a rough trip as Miss TC has decided that sleep is not her thing. Too many distractions on the plane. The crew were lovely though and very helpful.

On arrival at SIN we transferred to T2 and checked into the transit hotel. Miss TC was well overtired by then so ended up snuggled in bed so we could all get some sleep.

We were up and about by 7 with a short walk to our gate. A bus gate apparently, where we were transferred to T4 to board Silk Air. We had row 1; the lovely flight attendant delivered a plush toy plane to the miss then set up the bassinet so we had somewhat to put her while we ate.

On arrival at USM we were ushered into a J only tram and ferried to arrivals. We're we're processed then into the baggage hall. For the first time ever someone else had the same suitcase as me, fortunately no mix ups.

Our pick up from the hotel was quite late, we waited almost half an hour with a zonked out Miss. But the bus was fitted with a car seat, and cold towels and water provided.

This greets you on arrival:

The resort is interesting. It's rather isolated, so you can't walk to anything. Only one restaurant but the food is very good. No gym or any of those frills, just a spa. The staff are all lovely and are totally doting on the Miss.

The room has a lovely view straight over the pool and its own lounges. My only complaints are that the 'garden' is wasted space and would be better off as more space in the room as it's not really usable. There are no surfaces in the room to put anything (just bedside tables) so we already look like a bombs gone off. And no easy to access power points.

We had a lovely sleep (yay for Miss TomCat!), and wandered to the restaurant for breakfast once she was up. They have a cooked to order egg station, a great selection of breads, the usual hot items, stir fry and rice, and fruit and yoghurt. Juice, tea and coffee as well. Very adequate.

While we were out we put the green flower outside the door (basically the please disturb sign, there’s a red flower for do not disturb) so it was made up on our return. Now the Miss is having a nap then we’ll have a swim and make the most of the first of our massages.

Enjoying the option to be able to eat a larger selection of food these days?

Definitely, though there isn't much I missed out on (and nothing here that isn't suitable for pregnancy). I tended to risk assess things, so soft serve yoghurt from our local was fine but I wouldn't have risked it anywhere else.

At least this time I don't have to give away my coughtails! 😂

Absolutely loving our relaxing stay.

We took the shuttle into Nathon yesterday to wander around for a few hours. Had a lovely lunch, before heading back for some pool time

This morning the hotel staff surprised me at breakfast with cake and singing 😁

Had a fabulous 90 minute massage, they certainly work all the kinks out. Then a swim and champagne by the pool.

Still working our way through the restaurant menu.

Well now that we're home I can wrap this up. We had a lovely eight night stay and I really didn't want to come home. It was so nice not to have anywhere to be.

The hotel was fairly quiet (there aren't many villas) and we got to know all the other guests as well as the staff. They all greeted Miss TC enthusiastically every time they saw her, and we're happy to try to cheer her up if she was cranky.

The restaurant was really good and we ate most meals there. Two happy hours a day meant coughtails could be had for around $5aud. We did venture to another restaurant nearby on the beach a couple of times as well.

The pool villa was a good choice with a baby as we could swim while she was asleep but still hear her if she woke up.
