Squeaky wheel and all thatWaiting for a call from the Operations Manager. I'm now playing the game of how high up the tree do I have to go to get things happening faster.
I am a tiles fan - have acres of them . No one puts slippery tiles on the floors anymore (well not if you have any brains ). In fact many bathroom ranges have a glossy tile for the wall and a matching matt, non slip one for the floor.
Ms FM is a wood fan and will put hard wood down in her new house. At the moment she must have something fairly cheap in the house they bought as it shows all the doggie scratches very easily.
We used a gray grout and it is pretty forgiving. Breakages are a problem - the first Christmas after we moved in, I lost quite a few Christmas tree ornaments until I learnt to be more careful. Not had any tile crack or show wear and that is after 17 years.
We have in slab heating, so thye are lovely and warm in winter and cool in summer. I just loved how easy they were to clean after children’s parties. I do love the look of wood, but we have a lot of wood in the house - doors, architraves etc and they are a fair bit of maintenance.
One of our dogs is funny when we take her to visit Ms FM she refuses to walk on the wooden floor, or if she is made to she looks like she is trying to walk on tippy toes . Why she should be like that I don’t know! I could understand it if she was only used to carpet, but she races over the tiles which you would think would be harder on her .
I already have really nice sheets for our bed, I just dont want to share them with the spare bed so figured Kmart would do. Same with towels, I'm not a fan of sharing that sort of thing.
I have acres of tiles too. And I hate them. Much prefer timber floors and good carpet where it should be.
Unfortunately the budget doesnt stretch to $300 for sheets that wont be used often; the $50 500TC kmart ones are actually pretty nice.We have beautiful Sheridan sheets and towels for all the spare bedrooms, but I get it and we also only use “our” sheets on our bed
That is a great summary. So, smooth and crisp or soft and silky. I’m thinking the crisper ones might be noisier when you turn over in bed. But for some reason crisp seems cleaner. Some of the sheet discussion reminded me of this article I had read-go with what you like
Thread count is a lie - The Good Sheet
Me too, that's why I love starched sheets, not that I do that now (I did used to in the distant past). That is a great summary. So, smooth and crisp or soft and silky. I’m thinking the crisper ones might be noisier when you turn over in bed. But for some reason crisp seems cleaner.
Have been told plans will be corrected and made available for signing today. Lets hope this is all done before the weekend kicks off.
Hanging out to hear that they have been signed off.

This is what they do on cruises. Well, the ones I’ve been on. Fresh not starched. Shaken not stirredIf I were obscenely wealthy, I would have fresh starched sheets everyday (well almost everyday).
That would be the ultimate in decadence (for me).
