TomCat's new digs!

We're hoping so.

I have a giant inflatable reindeer I'm looking forward to setting up on the front lawn :D

Just be sure you don't overdo your Christmas lights.

Who schedules completion trades - incl tilers and carpeters and is that included in the 'build time'?

And I'm sure you are onto it, but try to take pics of walls before plasterboard goes on. When I've put extensions on, I've found knowing where the frame timbers and things like electrical wires are comes in handy later on (although technology helps, nothing like real photo evidence).

Site supervisor aranges the whole build from frame to completion. Yes I’ve heard photos are a good idea. He’s happy for us to arrange a walk through at any time. I’ll be doing one when frames are finished.

No we have aircon. But sometimes all you need is a fan overnight. (I've never lived in a house with aircon....).

It’s a bit like flying in F, or even J, once you have done it, you wonder how you ever survived without it :-)

We're fan people as we hate aircon, except for the 2 or 3 super hot or super cold nights per year.

Was thinking of not having ducted but individual units in a couple of rooms only - not decided yet. Plus Ive read a few times in new builds that some installations, you cant run both upstairs and down at the same time, no idea if true but maybe its the type of system theyre installing.

The issue with running “zones” at the same time is basically about the capacity of the A/C unit. The bigger the unit, the easier it is to cool the whole house

All I know is that it's a Braemar Evaporative unit. I don't think its zoned. However our heating is zoned, plus we can close vents if we dont want to heat certain rooms.

Evaporative is different from refrigerated, they work well in low humidity environments, very popularity out in western Qld, but the closer to high humidity you get, the less effective they become
