But I’m thinking that the speckled bit represents render. Does it correlate with how it actually looks, including the area you wanted bricked?Yes the upper level is also rendered. There’s no words anywhere on the plan about the door except that it’s brick. Nothing about it being rendered as it’s not visible on the plan.
You can’t see that bit on the plan, it’s not shown from any angle. The plan only shows the pillars of the portico and not the surrounds of the door which is directly behind. But I’m thinking that the speckled bit represents render. Was there a picture of the house front showing the brick surround? If so that would answer the question without any discussion. You can’t see that bit on the plan, it’s not shown from any angle. Apart from the stuff up at the front, the rest is looking gorgeous. Do you have a wine fridge for under the stairs or will build a wine rack? And the hallway and stairs look great.
That might be a temporary piece to help with the positioning of the cupboards either side.I’m also a little curious about the kitchen, the cabinetry has a base where the freestanding stove is to go which doesn’t seem quite right.

Easy access wine fridge? No, that’s the problem, it’s never shown on any elevation. On would assume if it was meant to be rendered there would be text on the plan to say so, but it clearly says brick.
Yeah it’s looking great otherwise. We’ll have wine racks in that space, wine fridge will go in the lounge.

Not as far as I know but possible and they just didn’t mention it.... not really so free standing then though. Is the benchtop height higher than the freestanding range, requiring a platform to raise the range to bench height?
Did you ask for higher than normal benchtops? Not as far as I know but possible and they just didn’t mention it.... not really so free standing then though.

Only by a cm.Did you ask for higher than normal benchtops?
That all gets done at the end, power points and light points.I know given the talents around the household, this is a silly observation ... but I can't see any power points/wires hanging out on the benches either side of the stove, on either of the pics you have posted.
Edit: nor anywhere else, nor light power in the ceilings. I guess they get punched through later.
You’re right; it does look like a kickboard to me but the space above looks too big for a built in oven, not freestanding stove. A mystery for you to unravel, when talking to the supervisor tomorrow. It’s lucky you can visit every week.Looks continuous to me.

Can't really ask though as we aren't meant to go inside, I'll have to wait for the walk through next weekYou’re right; it does look like a kickboard to me but the space above looks too big for a built in oven, not freestanding stove. So this is where I ask my Dumb Blonde question. Goes along the lines of “I was thinking the other night, with all the kitchen cupboards being installed, as we are having a free standing oven which is a bit unusual, what will the surrounding cupboards look like near the floor area? I just can’t remember?” Which might alert him to think, oh, I might need to check that out and get back to you. And will start any rectification process if they’ve forgotten. Can't really ask though as we aren't meant to go inside, I'll have to wait for the walk through next week
Which is good unless you wanted the ‘look’ of a free standing oven. Agree about the cleaning underneath. This would avoid that.We have a similar “freestanding” 900mm oven in the centre of cupboards. I suspect they are doing exactly what was done with ours.
The legs on these ovens are detachable. You can stand them on the floor, and then have to clean under it, or you remove the legs and mount the base of the oven on the sort of plinth you have. A bit of silicon along the gap between the bench and oven, and no more cleaning problems.
