Okay, a little backstory.
A couple years ago blackcat20 and I had a dream. Fly QF F (okay, we know it’s not the “best” but something we really wanted to experience). I was really quite new to QFF, and we had a grand total of around 42k QFF points between the two of us.
Now initially the target was to get to a total of 288k so that we could each fly MEL or SYD to LAX. After quite a few months of trying to harvest every point possible, and a ANZ bonus each later, we were closing in on the target. However finding two F seats to/from LAX was proving difficult. We were even prepared to go with one seat each way and the other tries for J with AA miles.
As time went on we started looking at DFW, which did seem to occasionally have 2 seats available. However, jobs seemed to get in the way so we kept putting off booking just for the sake of booking.
By the time we had worked out a time we could actually travel, we had enough points for book LHR. So a new plan was taking shape. We settled on Italy as a destination as we both really wanted to go back. And the target was QF10 for the tasting menu (thanks to Princess Fiona for the recommendation). So we started tracking F availability on QF 10.
