How stunning! A great example of something I would never have gone looking for, now it's a "must-see" for me. Thanks for the inspiration to get back to Lisbon (like you need extra reasons to go to that gorgeous city).

2011 Prague-We stayed at Residence Charles Bridge and it was a fantastic spot and made it easy to get an early start & beat the crowds.

Lake Maggiore-we stayed at Stresa. Not the best weather but a charming spot. Very easy to get to Malpensa. A ferry ride to Isola Bella & a ride on the cable car are recommended

Europe 2011

Ulm Baden-Wurttemberg Germany. We attended a reunion of my wife's German family near there in 2011. The family has significant connections to the city.

Ulm Minster - currently the worlds tallest church spire - 161.5 metres. Sagrada Familia in Barcelona will eventually take over that title. My wife's ancestors have their Coat-of-Arms mounted inside the church. It was placed there in 1741 as they were benefactors of the church. Work began on the church in 1377 and the final construction, being the completion of the tower, was not done until 1890.
