Travel insurance enhancements

We're travelling to Fiji just after xmas and one of the Fiji government requirements is "Travellers (foreign nationals entering Fiji for a holiday) must have proof of insurance for COVID-19 coverage."
Does anyone know if the Amex Platinum card insurance cover is adequate or do I need separate coverage?

I believe the Amex insurance only kicks in from mid March so this question is probably not relevant in your case anyway I'm afraid.

But on a more general level and from when it actually does kick in, I'd be curious about this too. Would most likely depend on the country and potentially even the mood of the immigration officer that particular day, would it not?

This statement is fairly prominently displayed on the Amex Australia web site and the wording looks great. However, I'm a bit put off by the fact that the actual PDS https://www.americanexpress.com/con.../pdf/insurance/files/travel-insurance-pds.pdf does not mention this, and in fact has a large exclusionary statement saying that nothing related to COVID-19 at all is covered.

Is there a new version of the PDS that incorporates the above listed changes? I'm concerned about relying on this when the formal PDS doesn't seem to list it. They could conveniently forget about the additional statement and refer to the PDS when you try to make a claim, yes? Noting that the COVID-19 cover statement uses the words "may" over and over again, which implies that it's subsidiary to the PDS which will be the final wording on what's actually covered?

For reference my international travel was purchased on 26 October through a Qantas Ultimate card and comments on 24 Dec.

The new PDS comes out in March.

The previous PDS combined with the "American Express Travel Insurance through Chubb Response to Coronavirus Disease 19" document is the coverage you get from them from 1st Nov 2021 until the new PDS comes out.

Edit: I should have also stated... "may" is used here because there are other reasons why a claim could be refused. The bottom line is that they will honour claims relating to COVID-19 so long as they are not excluded for other reasons.

That pdf looks like it is for their paid travel insurance. I don't think it covers Covid-19.
The statement I linked is for the complimentary insurance provided by holding and booking trips with an AMEX card.
New PDF to update this one comes out in March.

Thanks for linking the correct PDS, Ktan89! Given this PDS has no mention of COVID at all, I'm more willing to take it together with the additional statement as valid.
