Triple status credits on Virgin Australia

Made a bunch of bookings today and signed into VFF and had it populate everything, including the FF number. Then when I went to check the booking in Manage Booking on my account (they all appeared there), the VFF info was missing and needed to be added manually on each one.

Hoping this still counts, as the T&C’s said the number had to be entered at the time of booking - which is was, but then disappeared from the PNR. :/

It's a worry that every time I go into my Velocity profile there's a button to "activate offer" as though it hasn't been activated yet. I 'activated' it a second time when I made my second booking to be sure, to be sure.

Have made all my bookings to get me to WP by mid August now. I even double booked a date accidentally (it didn't warn me, not that I'd expect that) and had to change it at great expense.
TIL that WPs get Economy X seating for no additional cost.

I tend to check that the offer had been activated in the Velocity App ( after activating via email link)and then take a screenshot, as evidence if the bonus SCs fail to be posted to my account.

Yeah, I noticed that again AFTER making my booking….

AFAIK there was no confirmation email 🙄
what’s the SM in VVSM ?
Virgin Voyages do a Status Match to other cruise loyalty programs, but VA SG / WP are in the list. I’m now just hoping all the SCs post well before my cruise in August.

BTW, has anyone received their 3x SCs yet? 😂

Hmmmm. Hmmmm. I'm getting more and more into cruising and find it hard to pass up a status match. I’m not sure that Virgin cruises on my thing but I might get the status and see what happens then.

I might also of course be able to leverage the VV status to another cruise line.

Thanks!

OT, but the catch with VV is you have to have an existing booking to do the SM but once approved, $100 bar tab, some comp laundry, premium wifi, daily specialty coffee amongst other things.

I would have matched Celebrity, but I’m just a couple of nights short of “Elite” status 😏. Hopefully, I can get that under my belt sometime soon through a future cruise as it also has worthwhile benefits. It also automatically bestows RCCL “Diamond” and hopefully some equivalent with Silverseas, if or when they roll out a loyalty program.

I seem to have confused this program with QFF. To confirm, even if I didn't qualify to retain my current status if my review date is end of June, my status credits earned through the 3x promo would still be there after review date and I drop to gold and valid for 12 months since earning them? Honestly don't see the point in taking more than my planned trip to Melbourne next week but anticipate a fair few domestic and international flights later in the year with VA and SG which would probably earn the credits for platinum again.

Yes, unlike QF (and most FF programs) VFF has a rolling 12 mth window to UPGRADE status. If you can fly the elegible sectors and earn the necessary SCs, you’ll be upgraded immediately and your anniversary date is reset

Just retaining status works within the same anniversary date, otherwise you soft land to the lower level whilst retaining the same anniversary date.

Well, I couldn't resist. Locked in CBR-MEL-ADL return. The 660 SC for $877 @ $1.32/ SC was too tempting. Hello VA Platinum!! I guess that now means I have officially jumped ship, back to VA for the foreseeable future. Now to work out positioning details to / from SYD

Your review date will reset when you reach Platinum... When is your Gold valid until originally?

That was the bit that put me off. Trying to avoid morning flights in/out of CBR with fog and ice risk in July was too difficult to make it work…😳.

WP still requires 8 sectors beyond the SCs (unlike QF only requires 4 but more SCs).

Booked one way on VA and booked the other way on Qantas, surprisingly the Qantas business flight on the A220 (new aircraft type) was cheaper.

I had a thought that I will qualify WP by mid August now and I have a heap of flights coming up after that so I should switch my flying back to QF to work on status there...not what VA intended I'd guess!
(But I'll keep flying VA as I might as well use my new WP status for as long as possible.)
