Status Credits cannot be earned on Velocity Reward Seat bookings. Bonus Status Credits will be applied to the originally purchased fare class. Any upgrades (other than when you paid the full commercial fare) will not attract bonus Status Credits as a result of this offer. Eligible Flights that satisfy the above eligibility criteria are eligible to earn 200% more Status Credits than the Status Credits that would normally be earned for that flight and fare class. There is no limit on the amount of times this offer can be redeemed. Where multiple guests are listed on the same booking, only those guests who satisfy the above eligibility criteria are eligible for this offer. You should allow up to 4 weeks after satisfying the above eligibility criteria for the bonus Status Credits to be allocated. Has anyone had any luck with these kinds of offers before with it applying in retro? I booked some business class return tickets from MEL to OOL and then activated this offer probably 4 hours later because I didn't realise it was there (hadn't received an email). Anyone ever had it work for them still?

This is insane!

5 single flights in business class between SYD and MEL or BNE and you’ve requilified - SC wise - for platinum (still need a return eco trip to boost the sector count.

That’s $1850 for platinum.

Benefits will be even harder to use going forward.

You best bet is to cancel the Business class bookings - being business there should be no penalty - the funds should go to your travel bank

Then rebook using the travel bank funds.

Note that this will only work if there would still be the business fare available after you cancel.

Another way of you are able to regularly utilise travel bank funds and can handle the cost tied up is to make a new booking. Once that is ticketed, cancel the earlier booking to travel bank.

Just looked and the flights have gone up 200 each way and for two people that's 800 bucks...

Worth noting that services operated by Alliance and Link Airways on VA flight numbers do still count.

Nope on the earlier one this year I booked a flight then activated 30 mins later and it didn’t count.

On a different note, with a promo code you can have 240 status credits for $380.

Not sure you're correct about that. In the past I've had double SCs applied for bookings through AmEx travel (which also received the AmEx discount).

As long as it's a VA flight operated by VA, and you've entered your Velocity number when you book, it doesn't matter whether you book directly or via a third party.

I have done this in the past for double SC offers, and received the double SCs. The T&C's of this offer don't say anything about having to book directly through Virgin.

Just booked MEL-OOL return in Business -- 480 SC's for less than $800. Gotta be happy with that!
