Troubles in Noumea

Is this cost worn by the government or is there a fee involved?
Obviously these flights return you to BNE and then on your own steam?

No idea. Their goal is to return us to Australia safely, and all we know so far. I suspect they return to Brisbane or Amberley. Glad my car is in BNE car park.

Sounds good. Be interesting to see if any cost involved
Would be interesting to see the seat map for the herc. I'm wondering if J is 2.2.2 or 1.2.1?
Do the PE seats go down the middle, or on the sides?
I guess Y is sit on the floor lol.
And I guess ration pack meals for all!!!!
Sounds like quite an experience you have ahead when you leave.

And ASY580 back out, with seemingly the Kiwi flight KIW089 to follow.
94 mins on the ground according to Flightaware.

ASY581 had momentarily appeared on FR24 but back to silent again.

Indeed. TBH I'm looking forward to it, a little bit of adventure.

There goes ASY580. Not my photo:

We went to NC and stayed in the DoubleTree Ilot Maitre, just wondering if they still offer the buffet...
Also, QF is doing NC specials for $5xx return, all the way to Jan 2025, I think these days could be OK.
For the seating in the Hercules... - I think those with status will have the bench seats, and Y will be on the floor.

Hope everyone has a smooth and safe return!
I think the French authorities still have a lot of work to do to bed this down completely.....

No seat out today, I suspect they're getting the elderly and those with children out first.
Got friends holed up at the Sheraton near Bourail who reckon people in Noumea are getting out first. And they are way down the pecking order.

The RAAF B737s (vip fleet) not available, apparently.

Looks like some people from a certain nation is going to grow up with food allergies again because they overreact too much to even the mildest form of stress or threat 🤣 🤣

And no, Asian airlines don't serve peanut-free menus on the plane you'll have to be sheltered from Asian airlines for life unless you get the peanut vaccine 🤣

Look there are worse ideas but question is a cruise ship willing to partake... probably not.

Interestingly I've seen on smart traveller they've bumped it up to a level 3 warning (reconsider need to travel), some travel insurance won't cover those who travel to areas with that level (obviously not a problem for those already there) but an issue if that level doesn't drop after reopening.

Qantas has also put out a new commercial policy with anyone travelling up to 30 June that allows for a rebook (+/- 14 days), a credit or a full refund. Air Calin on the other hand is only offering rebooks/refunds for flights actually cancelled by the closed airport.
Can you please provide me a link to this new commercial policy?
