Just watched the episode on Tuscany (probably for the third time) from this week.

Fabulous series.

Interesting the tallest building in Florence is The Duomo at 400'. Nice to see an uncluttered skyline.

It’s fabulous and dominates the city with exquisite vistas from various streets. Watching the series makes me very nostalgic and longing for my times in La Bel Paese.

Agree it is just a lovely series - pity season 2 isn't available on SBS on Demand - and they (CNN?) cancelled series 3 on him (though he has said he will make it anyway).

It gets a bit meh the longer on it goes unfortunately!
That seems to be par for the course for quite a few series.

We've been enjoying Bay of Fires on ABC - described as Tassie-noir. Having worked in and around where it is filmed over the years (as has @RooFlyer) it does seem true to life - although maybe not now.

Although, some of the locals didn't think so "Anyone else concerned that Tasmanians are portrayed as psychopathic weirdos and that Tourism Tasmania will have a whole new challenge?” asked one social media user on Sunday Night."

I think the biggest challenge to locals is the fact that 'Bay of Fires' is a warm, sunny, beautiful location on the northern east coast of Tasmania. Zeehan (the series' location), isn't.

I watched the first episode, no more. Thought it was over-hammed.

Uncle Alan in senate enquiry was a great comedy yesterday. All the key ingredients in this type of show - avoidance, obfuscation and amnesia
On radio this morning when asked if she had QC membership, Jacqui Lambie said she did not but that nearly all politicians did. Is this kosher if gifted?
Anyway, she went on to explain she had QC membership until she was banned from flying Qantas for 1 year for bad behaviour in the lounge. Top marks for fessing up and owning it, and she went on to say that she deserved 2yrs. Refreshing when a poli tells the truth.

I haven't finished watching because I am 5 minutes into it when I realise I am watching last weeks episode! Anyone else have this problem?

Another Tassie folklore. It's true ...

Finally, sick of the stress in the city Ray quits his job and buys 50 acres of land in the hills in Tasmania as far from humanity
as possible.
He sees the postman once a week and gets groceries once a month. Otherwise it's total peace and quiet.
After six months or so of almost total isolation, someone knocks on his door. He opens it and a huge, bearded man is standing there.
'Name's Cliff, your neighbour from forty miles up the road. Having a Christmas party Friday night. Thought you might like to come at about 5:00...'
'Great', says Ray, 'after six months out here I'm ready to meet some local folks Thank you.'
As Cliff is leaving, he stops. 'Gotta warn you. Be some drinking'.'
'Not a problem' says Ray, 'After a lifetime working in the city, I can drink with the best of 'em'.
Again, the big man starts to leave and stops. 'More 'n' likely gonna be some fighting' too.'
'Well, I get along with people, I'll be all right! . I'll be there. Thanks again.'
'More'n likely be some wild sex, too,'
'Now that's really not a problem' says Ray, warming to the idea. 'I've been all alone for six months! I'll definitely be there... By the way, what should I wear?'
'Don't much matter. Just gonna be the two of us.'
