TV series discussion {'ware Spoiler Alert}

AND the very annoying thing about Australian streaming services is that they are poor relations of the US services because of syphoning and zone restrictions by Foxtel and the like.
That is quite annoying . Up till Xmas I had , via a VPN, VIKI USA membership (loads of Korean and Chinese shows ) which the shows aren't available elsewhere. I may get it again for a binging month at some stagev

Out of curiosity, which VPN are you using and what is the cost of the VIKI USA membership? Have a member of the household who is super keen on K-Dramas.

For years we have had ExpressVPN. Quite happy with the service. Occasionally Netflix does a dummy spit, Express tech help is usually prompt and efficient. We have it set up on various tablets and PCs not on the router though that is a choice
For basic VIKI it is USD $59.99 a year or $5.99 a month (that was available for Australia)
For plus it is USD $99.99 a year or $9.99
(Plus was only available to USA based, not sure if that has changed though )

FWIW: We use NordVPN and that works well, particualry for BBC etc.

As do we. We used it in UK to ping to Aus to see the Christmas Carols on NYE, then later the Boxing Day Test match then the Big Bash. Well, one of us did. And now I'm using it to ping to UK to watch Mr Bates and the Post Office docuseries.

Did Mr Bates have ads or were you able to skip through them

First, ITV won't run on safari web browser and their app isn't supported on ITunes App Store Australia. But you can use Chrome fine.
Second, you can pay to skip ads but I didn't.

I haven't tried chrome casting , not sure if you can and also haven't tried direct on the TV. I'll check and see if I can get the app on Samsung but not sure then what that means for VPN on the actual TV. I'll be back 😁

Just finished “The Afterparty” S2 on Apple TV+ and quite enjoyed it. Well written and light-hearted whodunnit in a similar vein to “Knives Out”.

Slightly OT but in keeping with recent discussion...

Just saw that Kayo prices are going up and number of screens being reduced (depending on the plan) on Feb 14th. However, what is being introduced to offset that price increase is 4K broadcasts.

Details here.

Why do these links have a tracker to steal one’s data?

go skimresources com/?id=64722X1468468&isjs=1&jv=15.4.2-stackpath&sref=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.australianfrequentflyer.com.au…

Not sure where you're seeing that on the link I posted??
Yes. Ah, something AFF is adding for affiliate marketing I believe. seems they now add this redirect to all posted links. :( Just mouse over the link to see it.
”Skimresources is a website content monetization service, according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skimlinks#Products”

edit: hmm only seems to happen (sometimes) on my iPad. Maybe it's something Safari is doing for some strange reason...

My latest binge on Apple TV+ has been “Tehran”

S1 is a bit of a slow burn and it admittedly took me a couple of attempts (over an extended period) to get through it, but glad I persevered as it definitely got better as it went along. S2 is boosted by the addition of Glenn Close to the acting ensemble. Looking forward to S3.

Didn't take me long, but just ticked another Apple TV+ title off the binge list -: "Liaison"

Not terrible, but not brilliant either. Would say that it started off with far more promise than it ended. Regardless, some good performances from Eva Green, Vincent Cassel and Laëtitia Eïdo (whom some may know from her brilliant performance in Netflix's "Fauda").

Treated very shabbily by Doron.
