TV series discussion {'ware Spoiler Alert}

Just finished The Bridge season 4 from SBS. Brilliant. Excellent cast all round. Saga played by Sofia Helin is simply fabulous.
Agree it was an excellent series - think it was certainly better than 2 & 3. We watched it on SBS On Demand before it hit FTA but eked it out at an episode each couple of days.
Another series that is similar and that we thoroughly enjoyed was Trapped, also on SBS On Demand. It's set in Iceland.

Try Nobel for more Nordic or maybe The Terror from BBC - Interesting, not riveting but interesting.

And I just looked and Spiral series 6 is available on SBS On Demand.

We watched Pride and Prejudice and Zombies last night. There is a cast of fairly well know actors for such an off-beat (read weird) film. But it filled in a couple of hours and was entertaining to say the least. :p

If you've got problems with streaming or jitter or other annoyances, try Allavsoft
Thank you very much for pointing me to this software - brilliant! (sorry for delay in acknowledging, didn't get an email reminder of reply to this thread {just noticed thread in the "What's New" section{).

Just finished watching season 1 of "Counterpart" after downloading it from SBS using Allavsoft (thanks again, TMA). A science fiction thriller set in Berlin and featuring J K Simmons as Howard Silk, a humble clerk in an intelligence agency who comes face to face with his "counterpart" in a parallel dimension. Shades of "The Americans" with a hint of "Stranger Things" - engrossing and tense. I see it's received a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Highly recommended.

Counterpart (10 episodes) is also available on SBS on Demand. I assume you download it to watch "elsewhere "
No, as I mentioned upthread, SBS on Demand simply doesn't work properly on our smart devices (TV or ipad) - and we have 100/40 FTTB so it's not a "buffering issue".. You start watching till the first ad, then the vision jumps back to the beginning. You fast-forward to just past the ad and then it's pot-luck as to whether it will play or jump back to the beginning. If it does play, you repeat the process trying to get past the second ad break. "TheRealTMA" suggested Allavsoft which works brilliantly for downloading SBS programs to .mp4 files which our smart devices then play quite happily. I would happily use the SBS on Demand app if it worked.

We enjoyed Counterpart.JK Simmons was great.

Enjoyed Taboo as well on SBS on Demand. Tom Hardy starred and London was dirty, gritty and quite unpleasant- just as it would’ve been at the time.

Have also been watching Secret Healer (or Mirror of the Witch) on Netflix. Started well but 20 episodes is just too long. Korean with subtitles. Costumes are lovely though.

We finished seasin one of Killing Eve last week. Highly recommend it.

Also I've watched the first three episodes of the new Lost in Space. I really hope it gets better soon.
Bit of a slog.

Yes, we found Lost in Space a bit tedious. It didn't seem to have any resemblance to the original one.

A few years old but we recently enjoyed the first season of The Bureau (Le Bureau des Legendes)

Most of the American shows I watch (Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash, Supergirl,) are on hiatus at the moment and I have found myself watching Real Estate shows from Canada on the Lifestyle Home channel on Foxtel. I was trying to find out when the property show Love it or List it Australia was starting Season 2 and I came across all the other shows with the same name and became addicted to the concept. Now I'm looking forward to a show called Jillian and Justin which appears to be a cross between a reality tv program and a home renovation show hosted by one of the leads in Love it or List it Vancouver who used to be part of the Bachelor.

When does Doctor Who start again. I want to see the new Doctor.
