TV series discussion {'ware Spoiler Alert}

GoT box set on anyone's Xmas list now?

Watched ep 9 last night. We used to save two episodes and watch them together on a Saturday night but with all the spoilers flying around on the front pages of news sites we just have to watch them as soon as we can now.

Good to see Stampy the Giant.

We gave the full set of West Wing to MrP for a Father's Day. When we are at our beach shack, then out they all come. It was a truly fabulous series.

The only real box sets I have are:
Yes minister/prime minister
Fawlty Towers
Rumpole of the Bailey, and
Selected seasons of Dad's army.

Also picked up the first season of Vikings cheap last Christmas but am yet to watch it.

I haven't gotten into GoT... too busy with Arrow and The Flash... such a dork :)

I'm right into iZombie now though. Anyone gotten into that? End of S1 today in the states I think

I can't remember what years Seasons 5, 6 and 7 aired in Australia of West Wing but I think my life was rather crazy at the time and I missed all of them. I caught up a few years later with DVD box sets which I borrowed from the local library. It was good watching the episodes back to back without having to wait a week or more inbetween.

Life has been hectic for me in the last few days so this is the first time for a while that I've had a chance to catch up with this thread. I've got a lot to say in reply to some of the previous posts.

I just finished watching the finale of Season 7, Castle. At the time it was made they didn't know if it was going to be the last episode so they threw a few special bits in the episode. I've watched a couple of the Castle DVDs which have interviews with some of the behind the scenes crew. I think some of the crew were on screen in the final sequence of the show.

In the last sequence the guest crime/mystery writer goes back to the table and there are a couple of clear shots of the other people who are sitting at his table. I'm guessing the people sitting on that table are all crime/mystery writers or people from Castle's production team. Does anyone here recognise the faces?

I've also been busy watching The Flash and Arrow. I'm guessing that anyone who doesn't have Foxtel, was rather annoyed at Channel 9 for not showing the Flash episode that set up the second Arrow episode that aired on Sunday night. I'm not certain, but I think Channel 9 deleted the "previously on Arrow and The Flash" sequence that was supposed to air just before the crossover episode.

We have just been watching Prison Break on stream tv. We had seen the first two Series but Channel 7 just stopped showing them. Still a few to go though. Damn scilla.

I can give you Series 1 to 4 inclusive via computer file. Attach your computer to a Smart TV and watch on the big screen. Headphones optional (in my household, late at night they are a requirement)

Ah, a true TV connoisseur!

I really want to get the gillies report to see if it was as funny as I remember it.

In reality, my viewing tastes are probably just a product of growing up in regional Australia when there were 2 TV channels, ABC and some local joke station.

I had a new wall hung entertainment unit installed about 18mths - 2 years ago now, and I still haven't re-attached the Blu-ray/DVD player even though the cable was run behind the wall.

There is a pile of usb flash drives on rotation sitting atop the unit.

Ok, if we are going to be open with TV series on the bookshelf:

Angel
Buffy
Dr Who (part)
Fawlty Towers
Firefly
Friends
The Goodies
The L Word
M*A*S*H
Monty Python's Flying Circus
Roswell
Thunderbirds
Torchwood
The Young Ones

Firefly - I heard this was fantastic but I never latched onto it. Should I try again?

It was a Joss Whedon series starring Nathan Fillian (Castle) that was canned after the first season. It had a lot of promise and quite a lot of plot lines left open, so Serenity (movie) was commissioned to tidy them up after a huge fan uproar.

I liked it, but I was disappointed it didn't last.

If anyone likes true crime, watch "the Jinx" I've never seen anything like it. - money can only do so much.

There was a UK off planet, terraforming series that was similarly killed after the first season. Very disappointing.
