I didn't go myself, but when we were in Edinburgh my friend went down to Leith and did a tour of the Royal Yacht Britannia that is moored there now.
Definately worth doing - afternoon tea on the yacht is also good!I didn't go myself, but when we were in Edinburgh my friend went down to Leith and did a tour of the Royal Yacht Britannia that is moored there now.
Thanks @StayGoldPonyboy. We did the tour of the RY Britannia when we first arrived in Edinburgh and would definitely recommend it.I didn't go myself, but when we were in Edinburgh my friend went down to Leith and did a tour of the Royal Yacht Britannia that is moored there now.

The cafe is called Forth Floor Brassiere and Bar. We had cake and coffee but I intend going back for the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. While we were there someone ordered this and it looked delicious. They also do coughtails!I've heard that tour is amazing, my sister loved it.
Bit random but in Edinburgh the cafe on the top floor of Harvey Nichols is great, floor to ceiling glass windows with views over the city. I think it's called Firth on Fourth? Good coffee, cake. we had brunch up there, smoked salmon scrambled eggs were good (if you aren't sick of smoked salmon yet )
@StayGoldPonyboy I found this at a cafe at a Real Mary King’s Close tour place. Obviously not freshly made so I will look for a bakery that makes them.I used to live in Scotland and especially enjoying seeing your great photos Scash.
Now, have you had any Millionaires shortbread? and potato scones with your fry up? I need to know

Next up was Kilt Rock and Mealt Falls. These falls are different to most as they fall in to the ocean. Kilt Rock is named as it is supposed to resemble the Keats in a kilt but were told this best seen from a boat.View attachment 341098View attachment 341099View attachment 341100
Yes the water is just magnificent and the weather has been almost perfect. Day time temperatures around 30 degrees but some days have been extremely windy.Wow, look at that clear water. You've had great weather too

I'm going to make a print of that photo and put it on our "planning" kitchen door, for our big trip in a couple of years. The view from our room on Korcula.
