UK and Europe 4 month sojourn!

I used to live in Scotland and especially enjoying seeing your great photos Scash.

Now, have you had any Millionaires shortbread? and potato scones with your fry up? I need to know 🤣
Thanks @StayGoldPonyboy. I haven’t seen or heard of Millionaires shortbread but will definitely look for them. I haven’t tried a potato scone either but have seen them and am keen to try. I haven’t really had a fry up yet as the meals are just way too big!

Loving this TR too
Are you heading up the top end?
Absolutely stunning driving along the NW coast
Thanks @jase05. Unfortunately we aren’t heading to the top with Nairn just out of Inverness being the furtherest north we’ll go. We will be back again in October and I’m think of doing the NW coast then although it will be getting a bit cool by then.

No I haven’t tried but have seen plenty advertised. Not sure it’s for me though!
When in Rome! (Quando a Roma faccia come i Romani!)

Also do try the haddock and chips at every possibility. Best in Britain.

(Three chimneys on Skye is a fab restaurant, and do visit Talisker for a tour.)

Yes I should try it. Our kids worked at the local Chinese when they were younger and used to make them.

Have had the haddock and chips several times now and I would agree with you on the quality.

Thanks for the suggestions but we only had the day on Skye so missed those.

Give us an itinerary so we can suggest ahead.:)

The Isle of Skye is a sensory overload in terms of scenery. There are mountains, waterfalls, creeks, lochs and fauna and flora! After getting on the island via the bridge we stopped at Portree for a look around and a visit to the information centre. The staff were so helpful and suggested some places we hadn’t planned on. Mrs Scash particularly wanted to see some hairy coos and we were told the best place to see them was at the Skye Museum of Island Life in the north west so we adapted the trip accordingly. We headed up the east coast and worked our way around the coastline. There was no phone reception for most of it and apple maps wouldn’t work so we did it the old fashioned way with an actual map. Having said that there really is only one main road (although calling it a main road in some parts is being generous 😁) so it would be hard to get lost!

We then headed to the Skye Museum of Island Life for the much awaited Hairy Coos. It was a scenic drive with amazing views.

And finally the Hairy Coos although disappointingly there was only on Hairy Coo and one normal black beast.IMG_2564.jpegIMG_2566.jpegIMG_2568.jpegIMG_2569.jpegIMG_2570.jpeg

It was quite cute but a little naughty and tried to steal Mrs Scash’s bag and almost impaled me 😂
