Re: UK - in or out of the EU?

At least I can say I was the first to call it...

Looking at the maps, particularly offshore - do the Channel Islands vote?

UK - in or out of the EU?

Just as our super shares were starting to recover. :(

I wonder if they will wake up tomorrow and wonder WTF do we do now.

Re: UK - in or out of the EU?

The result is so obvious now and I wonder if David Cameron will resign. Should he?

Not straight away. When companies start pulling money and businesses, then they will realise their HUGE mistake.

Re: UK - in or out of the EU?

No they don't get a Guernsey.

The most southerly part of the British Isles, the islands are self-governing Crown Dependencies, not members of the EU and not part of the UK.
Only island residents who have lived in the UK within the past 15 years are eligible to vote on 23 June.

...and boom-boom!

Re: UK - in or out of the EU?

One of the things I am really enjoying today is listening to the politicians in the remain camp who just can't quite get to terms with a democratic vote by the people. They are desperately trying to watch their words but sound like they genuinely believe that the voting public are idiots. (Incidentally I would be deriving just as much amusement if the vote had gone the other way and the Brexit campaigners would be behaving the same.) :D

We need more referendums just to highlight how absolutely dreadful politicians of all persuasions are.

Re: UK - in or out of the EU?

Just checked and the sky hasn't fallen. Very predictable fear and uncertainty reaction which will dissipate when everyone calms down and realises the ramifications aren't that bad after all, and medium to longer term will actually be positive for the UK. What happens in the other Euro countries now is the big unknown and their populations have the most to fear because they suffer most from the dearth of good leadership that afflicts most of the world. A freshen-up of the political landscape might be worthwhile. In the UK Cameron is likely to go now with his tail between his legs and you won't be able to wipe the smile off Boris's face.

US and ASX markets will likely recover first - likely rally a bit Monday and then have another downward spike before recovering. May not pan out that way but historically that's the way such things go.

Edit: Likely to see the same thing when The Donald rolls Hillary in November. Probably nothing will happen on July 2nd here though because everybody will have drifted off to sleep.............;)

As usual Matt sums it up perfectly:
